Favorite Western Excursion

Most definately swimming with the Dolphins in Cozumel. You book this directly with www.dolphindiscovery.com. It was amazing to have the two dolphins come up behind you and put their noses (if that is what they are called) under your feet and propel you so fast through the water that you stand up like you are water skiing. The dolphin kiss was pretty cute also.

Second to that, the stingray excursion.

Hi we were on the 8/16 western trip.

I loved the string ray city trip.

The rays are the most amazing creatures. They are gentle and personable.

My DD, who is 11. Became frightened, as did most of the other children, as there were many large rays swimming with us.

I thought the experience was fantastic and would love to do it again sometime.

Is it possible to bring a toddler to the dolphin encounter and swap parents. Does the facility support that or is everyone in the water at the same time and no facility for those waiting.
for example if I went with my two DD's 10 and 12 and my DW came, with ds2 1/2 and waited maybe we swapped or my DW may just want to observe.

Any comments?

Tulum Ruins. Each time I go to a major Mayan ruins, I am overwhelmed by the sophistication and detail of their construction. And Tulum's location on the water is a spectacular setting.

It's a tie between Fury Catamaran in Cozumel (party boat) and Captain Marvin's Stingray Tour in Grand Cayman.

However, I've been to Tulum and Xcaret before and they are great day trips too!

Booked with Capt. Marvin definately the highlight of our trip.

I absolutely agree with jlawall!
Fury Catamaran in Cozumel and Stingray City in Grand Cayman (although we used Capt. Bryan) were the best and I highly recommend them!

The Fury Catamaran was definately our highlight of the cruise in 2000. However...definately a "Party Boat" and I would leave the kids in the club for this one!!

I guess it depends on the age of your kids. We had four kids with us ages 9 to 14 and they had a blast. I wouldn't dream of leaving them behind for this one. They loved participating in
the line dances and the congo line. And the beach party had activities for all ages too! Swimming, volleyball etc. So, don't rule out all kids! :)

I agree DDluvstitch, the team who ran our excursion were very kid friendly and my girls and nephews loved this trip.

My greatest fear is doing a non-Disney excursion and being late back to the boat and being left behind. Does this worry anyone else? It seems like so many of the best excursions are not DCL orgasnized.

That's why we always leave lots of time to get back to the ship. You can book an early time to give you a cushion if something goes wrong.

By far our favorite was the visit to Stingray City! It is the one excursion that not only lived up to but exceeded my expectations!
We did the DCL tour that included Hell and the Turtle Farm, but any excursion that takes you to Stingray City will be worth it!

Thanks everyone. Looks like Stingray city is a big favorite. That was one we were thinking about. DM wants to see the Tulum Ruins.

Anyone else?
