Favorite Wedding Dishes

I know this has been posted before, but I performed the search and didn't find a lot. My tasting is in about 3 weeks so I need to submit my tasting menu by Wednesday and I was looking for suggestions. Thanks!!

We tasted chicken fajitas and the jerk chicken skewers for our cocktail.

Our late lunch we tasted the Parmasean crusted chicken, mashed potato, pepper rubbbed sirloin, pasta with two sauces, an alfredo and a la vodka, and we also tasted the cheddar cheese soup from Le Cellier.

That's pretty much the menu we chose.
 
Are you doing a buffet or plated meal? What types of food, brunch, lunch or dinner?

Our favorites from the plated meal tasting were Beef and blue cheese meatballs, jiko filet with mac and cheese, chicken with blackberry demi and the A Kiss Goodnight dessert offerings.

Are there any items that you are most curious about? Is there a favorite Disney dish that you want to serve at the wedding? We knew we wanted to have the Jiko filet but wanted to make sure the kitchen could replicate it.
 

Hey Sara, Just out of couriousity what are they charging you for your custom plated meals? Especially the Jiko filet meal. I was wondering if you picked a dish to replicate from a resturant if the price would be comparable to the restuarants price? Thanks!

Hey Marissa,

It's $77 per person for that option, that includes the caesar salad plated table side and the bread and rolls. We took out the other appetizer and desserts since we thought that would be too much food and we're having the dessert party later anyway.

This meal is much cheaper at the restaurants, but it figures in other costs for the kitchen and that sort of thing and the fact that you are having a private party and dedicated chefs and waitstaff.

Even for our rehearsal dinner at Fulton's the costs are higher than ordering off the menu, but if you want a private room you have to use their banquet menu.

That sound delicious. We are planning on a buffet. I wonder if we can still try that...
 
It was all really good! Couldn't hurt to ask, I know our fish dish is normally on the buffet menu, so I'm sure they can do something. I think the Jiko filet is served family style for the Evening Safari tour at AKL, so maybe they could adapt it to a buffet.

We want to do the filet also, how much was it? If you don't mind me asking. Its our favorite meal at Disney. There is also a salad I had a Jikos that we want that had peaches in it, but I don't know what it was called.

Trying the antipasto display, wild mushroom tart, or california rolls for pre-reception

Possibly the mushroom and artichoke salad

Parm encrusted chicken breast with the cream sauce on the side with the mashed potatoes
Grilled Mahi mahi with limoncello butter (possibly with a wild rice or something, not a big fan of mashed potatoes)
Filet with blackberry demi and mushroom risotto
Gnocchi with vodka sauce

Possibly another salad? Or side?

Any opinions?

I am so glad you started this thread! When are u having your PS? We are going to be in Orlando July 3-7 with the PS on the 6th. We are still working on our menu and it's wonderful to hear what others opinions :-)
 
I'm having mine June 29th, so I need to send in the menu today. I'll definitely compile a report for everyone when I get back.

The $77 per person is the Jiko Filet option, that also includes the caesar salad and bread and rolls. The chicken and fish options were slightly cheaper. I'm sure they could definitely do the salad too, they get the recipe from the restaurant and then recreate it.
