We are going to Disneyland in July and I usually wear socks and sneakers walking around the parks. Unfortunately, I have come to the age that I get hot very easily and socks and sneakers will not be a good option for me. :rolleyes1. Can anyone recommend comfortable walking sandals that I could wear in the parks all day? TIA

Keens, Keens, Keens! Try them once and you too will have 6+ pair !!! (So, dont try them! :lmao:) Well, the first pair I did pay full price, but once I knew my size got them on Ebay for a lot less (the foot bed tends to be the same from pair to pair - w/ a couple of exceptions).

Most of my family wears them too and many of my friends - I talk about them that much!

I have a very bad back condition and they are all I can wear for all day events. I only take my Keens to Disney - and wear them hiking and to the gym. My DH finds they are the only shoes he can wear w/out his prescription orthotics.

And, the footbed is embedded with some sort of anti-stink agent! ( :) ) and you can wash them in the washer.

Good luck with whatever you get!

ECCO Yucatan
Merrell Belluna

They are both incredibly comfortable and dry quick.

(But, fair warning, they are kind of strange looking - but they do grow on you! :goodvibes)

I can walk ALL day in my Clarks flip flops. You won't get any major support but they do have a molded footbed vs. the flat rubber on cheapo flips.

Happy sandal shopping!

My choice for about 15 years now has been Tevas. I tried a new pair for a trip I went on and after a day I went on the web to find a place that sells Tevas. All I wore the rest of the trip and not once did my feet hurt or blister. I can't say that for many other shoes I own.

I LOVE my Aerosoles slides. They're the only shoes, other than sneakers, I can wear to the parks. I don't like to wear sneakers either because my feet also get too hot. My local Bealls store (BeallsFlorida.com) currently has Wipe Out, but I don't see them on the Aerosoles site. They have Meximum, which is exactly the same sandal, except it doesn't have the decorative cut-outs.

That is exactly what i was going to say. Two disney trips and a summer walking almost everyday in the same pair of Teva Dozers - never one blister and only had sore feet after a full 11 hour day at Epcot. I have Keens, and while I find the footbed very comfy there is something about the shape that doesn't fit with the shape of my foot and I get blisters.

I never tried on a pair of Keens, but I would like to. Where can I try a pair on? Expensive? Thanks!

Another vote for Keens! I started with a pair of the sandals like Va-bear posted. I now have flip flops, another pair of sandals, walking shoes, and 3 pairs of dressier work shoes. :rolleyes1 :lovestruc They're kind of addicting. I have foot issues and occasional RSD flare ups and the Keens are the one shoe I can wear comfortably day in and day out, even at WDW.

I'll vote for Keens too. I've seen them on the shelf at our local Dick's Sporting Goods for you to try on. I'd say try any sporting goods store.

They are waterproof and mine have full toe protection (like the pic above). They also have sturdy, boot-like soles which makes them function essentially like sneakers or hiking boots (but more comfy). I have 2 pairs. They can be expensive, but I can justify the cost since I can't do all day in sneaks either.

I'll have to check out those Keens. I do have a pair of Crocs flip-flops I wear in Disney and they are very comfortable.

Lots of suggestions here! I wear Croc flip flops. I can't wear slides, my feet are too narrow, but the Croc flip flops I swear by!

Teva. Teva's "Terra Fi 2" if they are still available, if not, try "Pretty Rugged 2". They come in nylon or leather.

I love my Fitflops!:thumbsup2

I agree, I LOVE my Fitflops. I found Mickey ones at Downtown Disney and they are the only thing I'm wearing this summer. I have chrondomalacia/patella femoral sydrome which makes my knees very sore and they seriously saved my life at WDW. I am thrilled with them and would highly recommend them!:thumbsup2

Crocs Athens flip flops. Someone recommended the Teva mush to me, I bought a pair and while they are comfy they don't hold up to the all day walking/standing in line like my Crocs do and for what it is worth I think the Crocs flip flops are 100x's more comfortable than the regular Crocs. The flip flop has a double cushioned heel that surpasses any shoe I have tried including Keens.

How do the sizes run on the Keens?

Most people say they run a bit small and to buy about a 1/2 size up (eps if you are towars the top of your size range). I buy mine true to size, but my foot is on the small end of that size range.

As someone mentioned Dicks has them, The Walking Company Store, and REI too.
