Not sure if you are saying you are ok with a buffet as long as it does not have characters or you do not want to go to one at all. Our favorite buffet is Boma. For non buffet we really like Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL.
The Wave. When they had the breakfast buffet, it was great! Their pancakes with special butter are SO good (and this can be ordered as an entree since the buffet doesn't exist now). And even though the buffet had egg dishes, you could get 'made to order' eggs.
This is where I feel like Disney lacks. We love starting our day with a TS breakfast and don’t like characters or buffets. I will say, Boma is pretty impressive tho. I make an exception there!
our fave is Cali Grill brunch. It’s great for a special occasion.
You all have me wanting to do Boma for breakfast......IF......they open it back up in the next 6 weeks as we are staying at AKL. We'd do it on our Epcot day as the park opens so late very easy to get breakfast in and not miss park time.
Following up on my own post, I had breakfast there Sunday (10/18) with family (5 people total) and we all really enjoyed our breakfast. A wide variety of meals including standard scrambled eggs. Three people ordered Eggs Benedict, two were the souther style and one basic. Three orders of grits Plus one person had an omelette. All were well prepared and delicious.
As far as social distancing goes, the restaurant was pretty busy when we got there at 8:45 am but the tables were well spread out. There really wasn't any issue to worry about.
We did Ale & Compass breakfast and loved it. Really "different" breakfast items which we liked. Wine Bar George is fab for brunch. Grand Floridian Cafe was just ok. The food quality didn't blow me away for the price.
