Hi, Everyone!

I have a question for all of my Disboard friends that have more Disney experience than me;) ...I ran into a bit of a problem this morning when I called to make the rest of my ADR's for 2/22-3/5. I was trying to get Coral Reef for Monday, 2/23 for my DS9's birthday. Apparently (but no one seems to really know:confused3 ), there is a special event, because Coral Reef is not taking any reservations on this day. Sooo...I have to come up with a plan B!:scared1: I did make a ressie at Teppan Edo as a back-up plan for the moment, but I'm not sure I want to keep it that way.

What's your favorite Table Service at Epcot? It doesn't have to be on the Dining Plan as we are paying OOP for this meal. We are a party of 6...DH, DD8, DS9, my parents and myself. None of us are really picky. I'd really just like to make DS's birthday extra special! Thanks for your help!:goodvibes

Teppan Edo is one of our favorites in Epcot... Consistently good food cooked in front of you by skilled chefs who entertain as well as cook, we have never had a bad meal there and always eat there when in Disney.. JMO

Though I like Le Cellier I like Tempan Edo better and for your son's birthday Le Cellier is a bit boring I think while in Japan they can watcht the cooks and they will interact with your kids- Make sure he gets his birthday pin and you tell the restaurant.
Anyways just my opinion as My Newphens - twins 13 went to Tempan Edo on their birthday- Oct 7th- my sister flew in from Ohio for a 3 day birthday surprize and they loved it!

I agree, the food is good here and it isnt your typical boring eat here restaurant, the chefs cook right in front of you and interact with the people. Althought LeCelliar is good that wouldn't be my first choice for a kids birthday. Goos luck no matter what you choose.

We had the best meal of our last trip at Teppan Edo. It was fabulous, and my kids loved watching the show. :)

With kids and a birthday, I think Tepan Edo would be my choice, it's entertaining and tasty!!

Hi,

Whit in EC itself I would have to say LeCellier. Now if you are willing to exit EC through the IG and take the boat over to the S/D Il Mulino's or Shula's are outstanding dinning experiances.

le cellier is our favorite. we haven't eaten at teppan edo, but mainly because we couldn't get ADR's other than 4:30 or 9:30. i do agree with those who are saying teppan edo sounds like it would be better for your son's b-day though.

Our favorite Epcot restaurant is Les Chefs de France. However, I agree that Teppan Edo may be more fun for a birthday. If you're up for dining in the Epcot Resort area, Cape May Cafe & Beaches & Cream (esp. B&C) would be fun for a birthday. He'd probably love getting the kitchen sink for all to share.

Thanks so much for all of the responses!:goodvibes I appreciate it tremendously!

We do love Le Cellier, and we are going there another day during our vacation while we are on the Dining Plan! Sorry, I should have mentioned that before!

If it is convenient to get to any suggested resort restaurants, we would consider that as well. We will have a rental car...so getting around isn't too much of an issue.

For those that have done Teppan Edo for a birthday, what do they do that is special for the person celebrating their birthday? It's exciting that a lot of you like Teppan Edo, so maybe we'll just keep our ressie there! Thanks!

Kristi :)

We almost always eat at Garden Grill - my son loves the revolving restaurant aspect (but he is younger than yours). He always asks to eat at "the place that goes through the ride". We have found that meeting the characters here is more relaxed than at other character meals. We have always liked the food although the last time we were there (last Nov.) they had this new system of serving platters in a vertical tray that made it very difficult to get to the food!

I would also vote for Teppan Edo (but I've never eaten at Le Cellier--it's on my list). For your birthday they will give you a paper chef's hat with "happy birthday" written on it in Japanese. I don't know if you get a dessert if you didn't order it or not--we were on the DDP, so the cake came with a candle in it.

Very kid friendly and great family atmosphere - they will recognize his birthday, too.
