What are your favorite summer shoes for Disney? I have a lot of trouble with my feet, but I love to walk. What shoes do you recommend for July? Sneakers are usually my best bet, but it’s too hot? Thank you!

I'd like to know what people recommend as well. I have the same problem. At the end of day 3 I usually have seven blisters per foot. By the end of our last trip I was standing in line for Splash Mountain in my socks. I've always been told two pairs of socks and a newish pair of sneakers but that just doesn't work for me.

Blisters are one of my main problems too.

Any type of comfortable walking shoe works fine. There is a similar thread on this topic I saw last week. Disney involves a LOT of walking, so I think the bigger issue is how much you typically walk when at home. Walking X miles per day at Disney will be a challenge no matter what shoe you wear if you don't regularly do that at home.

My all time favorite shoe, Disney or not, is Birkenstocks. Have to be careful because they can't be worn in the rain, which in Florida in general is a problem. But Birkenstocks now makes a water proof type shoe which I plan on buying. My second is Ryka. They make great sandal type shoes that are comfortable and waterproof.

Crocs all day every day I don't care what my family says! I currently am walking around as much as possible at home and I got Ryka Skywalk and they are light weight and padded and my feet are less irritated. I have dry cracked feet and have been putting on foot repair as well as moisturizing daily and so far so good. I had awful pain on the last trip using Merrell's which are supportive but dont have much give or padding.

Teva, all the way. Good support, lots of styles to pick from so you can get the best for you, and water just runs right out if they get wet (at least, the styles I picked do). Also, make sure whatever you wear is well broken in. The last thing you want with all that walking is to break in stiff shoes.

I personally can’t do anything other than tennis shoes at Disney. We do too much walking for anything else. Hoka’s are fantastic and have nice lightweight models. Agree with the poster above that walking in advance of the trip will help, especially in the shoes you plan to wear.

My feet always seemed to know when I set foot in MCO. I didn't even need to be on property and I'd start to get blisters.

Here's what I've learned... Thorlos socks. They are moisture wicking and padded in the right places. In addition to those, I use moleskin on the sensitive parts of my feet to prevent the rubbing that causes blisters.

Last time I was at WDW, I had a pair of Merrell sneakers and a pair of Teva flip flops. I gave the flip flops a whirl because I always saw people wearing them and wondered if they would do well. They did! So, from here on, I will take a pair of Tevas and a pair of sneakers with my Thorlos to be used with the sneakers and moleskin to use with both.

Chacos and crocks. I have bad feet and those two get me through Disney days no problem.

Teva Hurricanes are wonderful. I can wear them from park open to park close every day of a trip and my feet are so happy. I do apply a little Body Glide on my feet anywhere the straps rub, but I do that with any sandal/heels/flats that I wear at home as well. :)

I've got a pair of these sandals from Land's End. They're quite dorky, but they are very comfortable and the closed-toe is helpful.

For mooching around Disney Springs, or any other non-park day, I wear Birkenstocks.
