Favorite stroller for 1 year old at wdw?

I am doing some VERY early planning for our Dbaby's 1st bday at wdw sept 2007. I wanted to know where I can get the fan for the stroller and what strollers people have had good or bad expereinces with. I know about the bus issue so we are planning to rent a car and stay at a monorail resort so we won't have to deal with the bus at all. any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

We bought the Combi City Savvy for our last trip when DS was 18 months. We really liked it...small, lightweight, reclining seat, nice canopy, small basket underneath, carrying strap. I highly recommend it. I thought it was a reasonable price at $100.00, too. We didn't attach a fan directly to the stroller. We bought a spray mister before we left and just sprayed DS occasionally with that.

Hi! As the stroller fan goes..I have tried 2 different kinds. Two years ago I got a small foam blade clip on fan ($5-7.00) that was small and can clip anywhere (even your shirt)..it has a bendable neck. I LOVED that thing. It put out alot of air and pretty fast. If DD's fingers got in it it didn't hurt (she was 13 mo at the time). We lost it though. Last year I bought 2 of those clip on fans from One STep Ahead they were $12.95/each. They were just OK. They were much bigger and didn't put off as much air as the small, cheaper ones. They would only really fit on the stroller tray because since they were bigger they were also heavier. This year I bought 2 more of the smaller clip fans. I just got mine Friday and they were $4.99/each. I can't find them anywhere else for that price and I haven't seen them in WalMart. I did a search and this is where I found them: www.campmor.com once you get there do a search for clip on fan. They shipped them pretty much the same day. It's small enough to put on the side or top of the stroller and you can face it downward towards your child.

The stroller...I prefer the nicely padded, big basket with 2 cup holders and a snack tray strollers. Everything goes in there so we don't have to carry it. I defintely would not take it on a bus though. We made that mistake once. It's too bulky. We always have water, and snacks or something we bought to shove in there. Plus the cup holders come in handy! We always stay on property and only use the package delivery service if I buy too much or it's big. HTH

I have done my stroller research in the past months for my trip in July. I went to lots of stores and shopped online. The BEST stroller I found for the $$ was the GRaco Mosaic from Target. $100 great price becasue the cheap one's are crap. It folds like and umbrella stroller, reclines, shades, has a basket and cup holder. I don't know how I lived without it before.

As for the fan I got the one with the foam blades (Discovery Channel Store in the mall) for $7.95. I haven't used it yet but like it better then the other one that the blades are incased in.

We have not one, but two, Combi's and love them for all of the reasons the previous poster mentioned. I think that they are a great travel stroller and that you get a lot more features for your money than a Maclaren (I'm sure the Maclaren fans will tell you why they think their strollers are the best too).

I saw these attachable stroller sunshades on our trip to WDW when DD was 14 months old and bought one before our next trip. It's great if your baby is napping in the stroller because it makes a little "stroller tent". We used to try to do the same thing with a lightweight blanket, but it was a constant war with the wind.

I would also suggest the Inglesina stroller. It only weighs 11lbs., and it is very, very well made.

Have you ever considered renting? Even getting on and off the monorail, you may have to fold up your stroller to make room for others getting on and off.

Whatever you do, don't take a full sized carriage on the bus (if you decide to ride). Like a previous poster stated, it would be a very big mistake. We almost (ALMOST) took our Peg Perego triple stroller (it is super heavy and bulky, albeit comfy for the children).. What were we thinking? Thank goodness sanity took over. We rented two doubles at every park. The kids just sprawled out.

They are old enough to walk now, but renting strollers in the park was fine by me.

Even if you only have one, rent a double. You will have a spot for your all of your stuff.

First, off, don't sweat it! Going to Disney with an infant or toddler isn't that difficult. We took DD when she was 5 months and 2 and now are heading back again at 3. I can honestly say that the two previous trips with her have been the best trips of my life - and that includes my own childhood trips and honeymoon.

We have used only one stroller since we brought her home from the hospital and it is a Peg Perego Plikomatic. What has worked for us is that it collapses like an umbrella so it has been a breeze on and off the busses; it reclines fully so she has been able to take a nap whenever she is weary; there is a full sunshade that can cover her completely. There are other features but those are the things that have made this stroller work for us.

In regards to the fan, we bought a misting fan at Big Lots for a couple dollars. It's small and has wobbly "blades" which can't cause any harm. It was very cheap. Our daughter likes to hold it on herself which keeps her occupied when she's cruising through the parks. The ones that Disney sells are terrific but they are a bit pricey.

Another vote here for the Iglesina Stoller. I used it for my DS and now my DD who is now 1. It made the trip to WDW when my DS was 18 months. He loved it. If it had a cupholder I would think it was the greatest invention ever but you can attach one of those easily. My kids recline great in it and sleep fine.
