I've never eaten at Le Cellier so I can only tell you what reads nicely in my mind.
In order of personal interest:
NY strip steak w/ Escargots à la Bourguignonne, Brioche Custard, Asparagus, Bercy Butter.
Seems to encompass the two major European cultures of Canada with equal force and a strip steak has beefier taste than a more delicate tasting filet mignon cut.
Filet mignon w/ mushroom risotto, asparagus-tomato relish, truffle-butter sauce.
Should cut like a dream, and the addition of the various veggies and rice and sauce would make for a nice texture melange.
Porterhouse steak for 2 with Loaded Mashed Potatoes, crispy Onions, Lobster Macaroni and Cheese, Béarnaise Sauce, blue Cheese Fondue
Sounds like a carby carnivore's delight. A tad on the heavy side so bring your appetite and maybeeeeee forgo the cheese soup as an appetizer.
Black Angus Rib-Eye
Fingerling Potatoes, Baby Spinach, Fried Capers, Creamy Mustard Sauce, Maple Bordelaise Butter
This dish read really nice to me until I got to the wine and maple syrup butter. Maybe if they put the butter on the side it would give you the chance to decide if it made sense or not? In general I like a good rib eye.
We had a reservation for this restaurant last trip but wound up cancelling it when it was decided there was too much beef treats on the overall ADRS; always next time.
When did you last eat at the Yachtsman? I really want the peppercorn sauce too and we made a reservation for it instead of Boathouse this coming summer.
