What are your favorite souvenirs to bring home from a Disney trip?

I'm not looking to come home empty handed-- but I have no idea where to begin.. any tips?

Start with a Mouseketeer Hat. From there,

Do you want to collect something? Get a practical household item? Art? Clothing? Something that will last, something that won't? WDW has about as many options as a Walmart.

There are tons of stuff to choose from at WDW... however, they do tend to be pricey. I personally have come home with a tye-dyed T-shirt, a flashing Mickey ears hat, a Singing Birthday Pooh Bear (got this one on my Birthday), and a small variety of Disney Pins.

But I have also gotten the least expensive souvenirs around to hand out to co-workers and friends... Pressed Pennies! There are tons of these machines spread out all over the WORLD... and best of all they only cost .51!! so you can get a lot of them. They also have pressed quarters...

All in all, it depends on your taste and who you are buying it for.

I am a big fan of the antenna toppers... lightweight and fun! We buy several each trip (about $5 a piece or so), and rotate them throughout the year - keeps up in the Disney spirit all year long. :)

We also buy Disney Christmas ornanments each year also; 1-2 a year to remind us of our trip.

As a previous poster said... so many options to choose from when you are there.:thumbsup2

On our last trip, we had a great time doing the pressed pennies. I think we're going to do a few quarter collections when we're there next month.

Our other favorite thing is to go to the toy store at DTD and get Mr. Potato Head parts. We probably have at least 5 'potatoes' at home. So, we can just fill the box with parts.

We have been to DW every year for the last ten years and we always buy a new Christmas ornament . It's amazing each year when putting them on our tree hearing our boys recall each ornament and some special memories about the trips .

It's a nice idea! :)

Why don't you try on this one?

Try to get something from the place you've visited, such as rock/stone or flowers/petals etc...

can you get the christmas decorations personalised ?? and what sort of things do you put on them . I have to bring back loadsa pressies for family so just thinking of getting one each for everyone ,

We always buy a clip fridge magnet with the year on it! Practical and functional!:goodvibes

I'll have to look into the christmas ornament, that sounds like a nice collectible.

Are there other collectible souvenirs that change yearly?

Yes, usually they have the year on them.

I love T-shirts. We always head to DTD first thing and make tees, then we wear them in the parks. That way when we get home not only do we have them, they seem a bit more special as we "wore" them while there.

Another thing we do is take pictures....tons of them. Those are my most treasured souvies.
Most people take the normal pics, but I learned take pics of what you think is special...if you can be in the pic all the better. Favorite attractions, crazy things you or family members do (like DH will skip down mainstreet)...goofy things.

Cute story: When in the crystal store DH saw a castle made out of swarvski( spelling) crystals. It was $37,000, he asked the CM if they could open the cabniet so he could take the pic of it....you should've seen the CMs run to us, they kept asking me, "oh is your husband buying that for you?"...lol
Made a big deal out of us.....to funny. That was a memory that I treasure every time I look at that pic.

I always get a coffee mug, magnet for the fridge and snacks to bring back. This year I will be getting the popcorn tins (it is a set of 5, 1large and 4 small) for family movie night. I also come with a new ornament. My kids usually pick one out as well and then fight over mine when it's time to pit them on the tree.

I usually get a new frame to put in a picture from the trip....which reminds me, last trip's frame is still pictureless....better get cracking on that before our trip in just under 2 months!!!

When we go we buy a magnet for the fridge (collect magnets where ever I go), ornament for the Christmas tree, and a picture frame. Earlier this year we did the pick a pearl in Epcot which was a really nice, however pricey. It was something I wanted to do once, and my daughter loves having her "big girl necklace" (she's 4) and whenever she wears it she tells everyone about her trip. We also let our daughter pick out one thing she wants and limit her to this one item. We also put them same limits on ourselves however I have often come home with only my magnet, and frame. :lmao:

Our family usually get a new frame to put in a picture from the trip and a Christmas ornament with the year on it.

Last trip I bought 2 charms at each park, a charm at our resort and a charm at the Disney Outlet and put them on a charm bracelet I already had. Tres cute!

This year. . .hmm. Might get a plain sailcloth tote (you know, the big beachie ones?) and a black sharpie and turn it into a Disney Autograph tote. If they weren't being sold at disneystore.com I'd buy a Dooney & Bourke. I might just save all my money for Harry Potter junk too. (If I can get over to DTD, I think I'm going to buy a box of Mr. Potato head stuff for my desk at work.)

i can never leave disney without some t-shirts (: i wear like a disney tee everyday people think i'm crazy but i just love my disney haha (: we usually get the mugs in the resorts and christmas ornamints and no matter how old i get i will always get stuffed animalsn(: i will never grow up as long as i have disney (: we bring back toys for our dogs too (:and i wanna get another ring with the mickey head on it in the australian crystal i got one 3 or 4 years ago but my finger grew outta of it so yeah (:

Besides Christmas ornaments, I like to get food items. Since I drink tea, I make it a point to buy a box or two of unique tea at the Twinnings store in UK. DH loves the Mickey cookies with macadamia nuts. And of course, a muffin for breakfast the first morning home is a tradition for me.
