Hi everyone,

We are off in 2 weeks for our first trip as a family of 3. It is our first time on the dining plan (Yay Free dining!) so I'm looking forward to trying so many new snacks. Previous trips I'm so budget conscious I talk myself out of them and only end up getting 3-4 snacks. Now I have 8 credits for me and 8 credits for my 5 year old. We plan to share most snacks since he's a meal eater and not a big treat eater (he'll have 5 bites of ice cream and be finished but have 2 plates of buffet supper)

What should we try?
The one caveat is we cannot have chocolate treats due to acid reflux. So that eliminates a lot of snacks.

Already on the list so you have an idea of what we like:
Dole float
Kaki gori
Lefou's brew
Citrus swirl
A Goofy's Candy company treat with marshmallow (this is for him only, to take back to room and eat over a couple days)
Popcorn
Cloudberry horn or strawberry waffle

What are some other fun snacks?

Thanks!

I've also tried compiling a snack list for our trip in December (we'll be on DxDP so lots of snacks :))
Sweet:
Ample Hills Creamery- small ice cream (at the Boardwalk)
Macaron Ice Cream sandwich in France EPCOT
Cronut ala mode at refreshment port EPCOT

Savoury
Cheeseburger Spring Rolls at MK
Pulled Pork Cheese Fries at AK Flame Tree BBQ

I have not tried any of this but reading from these boards, they sound good :) Hope you have a great trip and report back as to what snacks you find! :)

According to the Disney website, Ample Hills Creamery doesn't accept the dining plan. I'm not sure if that's changed, but if they did, my daughter will want to go there!

Savory items we like: French Onion Soup offered at Be Our Guest (lunchtime - but you need an ADR), Samosas and Falafel at Mr. Kamal's in DAK, Chicken fried rice at Yak & Yeti counter service at DAK, also one egg roll there is a snack credit.

Lots of things in the countries in Epcot's World Showcase have good snacks too!

We had leftover credits last August, so took home bags of candy and trail mix from the store at Pop Century.

I'm also going in two weeks (yikes!) with free QSDP. Really can't wait!

Hmm.. I saw someone on the boards say that they do take the dining plan for a 'small' scoop. I'll try to fond the answer and report back. I wont be going until December so this is good to know :)

That is great information - thank you so much, Candycane83!

We're going to Epcot in exactly TWO WEEKS! The day we check in, once we're settled, that's where we're off to. I am going to see if my DD wants to go check this out and get a scoop!

1. Cupcakes (really, works of edible art) at Starring Rolls at DHS and Contempo Cafe in the Contemporary Resort. Both places have seasonal choices in addition to some favorites that seem to always be there. There are many specialty cupcakes available around WDW, but these are my 2 favorite locations.

2. Macaroons at Les Halles Boulangerie in France/Epcot. The box of cookies is so beautiful you may not want to eat them, but do it anyway. *This may or may not be on the DDP snack list. Frankly, I don't care and just swipe that magic band when I see them. Everything I've had from that bakery has been 3 shades of awesome, and I'm sure it would be easy to stay on the plan and have something wonderful. I know that the strawberry tart is definitely on the plan, and it is gorgeous and delicious.

3. Caramel popcorn from Karamell-Kuche in Germany/Epcot. OMG.

4. Big, soft, warm pretzels at Sommerfest in Germany/Epcot. With lots of mustard.

5. Rooibos vanilla hot tea at Anandapur Tea Company near EE in AK. Nearly every time we visit AK it is really really cold, and hot tea is a great warm-up.

6. School Bread from La Kringla in Norway/Epcot. Custard, bun, and coconut. Quite unusual but delicious. For many, a Disney must-do. I end up getting one when walking by Norway more often than not.

7. Churros!! Man, I love churros. I'm pretty sure you can get them in all 4 parks.

My kids love the Mickey pretzel with cheese. You can get these a lot of places.

I love the Buffalo Chicken Waffle Slider at Trilo-Bites at AK. (Probably not for a 5 year old, but you can get one and get your child a float or an ice cream sundae.)

My kids also really liked the frozen lemonades you can pick up at most of the resort quick service locations. I am sure they are at places in the parks, too.

Ooh snack credit question (I always bring home rice krispie treats cos I love them)
Does anywhere at Christmas offer gingerbread as a snack credit?

We don't do the dining plan, so I have no idea what is and isn't on it as a snack but some favorites of ours are Schoolbread (Norway), Cronut (refreshment port), and Carrot Cake Cookie(Sweet Spells)
