What is your favorite DVC or Disney shop?

I like the shop at SSR and the one at the Yacht Club and all the ones at the Grand Floridian and the ones at the BW and AKL and gee maybe I have never met a shop I did not like.

Actually I used to really like the one at the Beach Club but after adding the Marketplace, it fell off the list.

Oh yea and the one at Wilderness Lodge.

Sammie's already mentioned it, the Mercantile Shop at WL. That's where I have found most of the presents that I've bought for people. I love that store!

I have never met a shop I did not like.

I have to say that decribes me. We always spend at least one day visting many of the resorts and all our favorite shops because nearly every resort has one that I absolutely most go to! Although there does seem to be less resort specific merchandise these days and I really miss that!

My favorite is the shop at AKL. There is merch there you can't find anywhere else.

Love Basin! I go to the DTD one, though. I order online to get by between trips.

This is going to sound crazy, but my favorite shop in WDW is The Briar Patch. I just love that shop becasue it is tucked away and reminds me or the stories my Mom would tell me about Uncle Remus. We specifically went there one day on our last rip to see it and it was closed....maybe this trip. I also like walking through the Italy shops and looking at the masks. DH's fav would be Art of Disney and PoTC shops. We always come back with several skull and cross bone t-shirts for him.

I disagree. When DH and I went on our honeymoon...many rides did not dump you into the gift shop. It was so nice that everything wasn't so OBVIOUSLY commercial.

Oddly, I never seem to buy anything at my favorite gift shops. I have a blast in the pirates gift shop...but wouldn't buy any of that stuff. I adore the Norway gift shop...but gee, that stuff is expensive

We tend to buy in the hotel gift shops or in the BIG gift shops at MK or DTD.

Agree about the store at AKV. We popped over there in Feb, just to check out the resort. We have since joined DVC and are staying there in Oct., so I can't wait to look around. We also like the store in the Poly. My favorite store is Mouse Gears in Epcot. It's just so big and there's so much to choose from. Could easily walk around there for an hour.

I have 2 favorites. Unlike most of the posters her who seem to like the ones in the resorts mine are not. Both are in MK. The first would be the hat store on main street accross from the train station on the right. Sorry but I am the worlds worst speller so I won't even attempt to spell the name. Anyway our first park we visit every trip is MK on arrival or the next if we fly in late. We always get a new hat for everyone who is there with us. We all try on many different ones before picking just the right one. We also take lots of pictures in her of us trying on different ones. The whole procedure is a riot and we have lots of fun. It really is more of a family tradition.

The second would be Goofy's Candy Shop. The sights, the SMELLS, the colors, memories of childhood and penny candy stores, not that this is really one. Watching them make the confections. Last but not least, usually the barbershop quartet is there while we are. Coincindence. Maybe. More often then not we have also run into a character while there.
