favorite shoes for the park???

I really like Brooks tennis shoes. I recommend wearing them for two to three weeks before taking them to DLR so they are nice and broken in.

Even more important than the shoes are the socks. I didn't believe it but was extremely happy with a purchase of Thorlos Coolmax hiking socks. It's the first time I've been able to go a whole day with my feet dry the entire time. Really excellent purchase, well worth the spendy $$

I just wear my tennis shoes...and I also rotate in my Mary Jane Crocs (I know...'crocs'...but I don't really care what people think as long as my feet don't hurt). I also want to get a pair of Keens, it's just hard to find them to try on in my area.

I also love the Venice Keens! And now I've converted my husband to Keens, too. Protected toes are a huge plus in a crowded park, and when getting on and off rides. I alternate my Keen's with my Asics athletic shoes.

I switch between my Merrils, my Keens and my tennis shoes. If I wear the same shoes all day it always make my feet itch (don't ask, I'm strange, I know) so I change once during the day.

I just bought a pair of Natural Sport Coolidge sandles. They have a Dr. Scholl gel insole built in. They are very comfortable. It had great reviews and several of the women had bought them to wear to WDW and said they were very comfortable. I have been wearing mine around for a couple weeks new and have had no problems.

From The Pac Northwest here - and we'll be wearing Keens! lol
I also have a pair of Reef flipflops and a pair of running shoes to switch it up. We always take hoodies, long pants & runners to put in a locker for when the sun goes down. The change in footwear helps keep them happy.

I love Merrel sandals too - and if I had a pair I'd take them

Running shoes! They offer great support and my feet never get too hot. The one downside is wet socks after a water ride.

Keen Emerald City Sandal -- http://www.buy.com/prod/keen-women-s-emerald-city-sandal/q/sellerid/31002768/loc/65499/222495779.html. I've got super-sensitive feet that cannot handle any texture for any length of time (Croc nubs are killers for me). Nothing about this Keen sandal rubs on my feet. The footbed has no stitching in it and the uppers are made of super soft leather with no scratchy stitching, velcro or elastic. The footbed/sole is great as well -- supportive, but also great at absorbing the shock of walking. I can wear them all day and my feet don't feel like I've been on them that long at all. Also, the soles have good traction.

Another vote for the Crocs flip flops. DH and I both had a pair for our last trip, and were comfy for all 5 days.

I had high hopes for Crocs the last time I was there but they tend to rub the bottom of my feet raw for some reason. I always go back to my faithful Yellowbox flip flops. They are so comfy!

I will probably wear Skechers also. Don't forget what a good pair of socks can do for you; dry, cool feet that won't move around and cause blisters. Smartwool

New Balance are the shoes of choice for DH and I. I did flip flops once...never again!

I usually rotate between running shoes, ballet flats, and open sandals. I think it's better for your feet not to be wearing the same shoe everyday. (and more fun;)). Sometimes even the most seemingly comfortable shoe can give you problems if you're walking in it all day. Good to have back ups:thumbsup2

I can't say enough good things about my ecco sandals. They've reversed all the symptoms of my plantar faciatis (super painful) and just have THE best arch support of anything I've ever tried. And I have tried quite a few.

But remember everyone's feet needs are totally different, so it's best to ask a podiatrist, the walking store (or similar type store) or even someone with similar feet. What works for one person may not necessarily work for another.
