All of the above - I went for the first time as an adult, but had I gone at age 10 I would have done EVERYTHING, assuming I was tall enough to get on.
I love the big coasters, have since I was little, but not everyone does. The tip about watching them a few times first is a good one - see if you think it's something you can handle. I don't know if you've ever been on an inverted coaster, or one that turns you completely upside-down - for some (like me) it makes the ride even more fun; for others, it makes them sick. Many of them have POV videos on
youtube if you want an idea of what the ride is like.
A few statistics from the roller coaster database (rcdb.com) that might help you know if you're ready:
Dragon Challenge (steel, inverted):
Drop - 95-115'
Inversions - 5
Max Speed - 55-60 mph
*There are several points on this ride where it seems you will collide with the other coaster. Each track has a different layout. Minimum height to ride is 54"
Incredible Hulk (steel)
Drop - 105'
Inversions - 7
Max Speed - 67 mph
*The tunnel on this ride is really fun. There is a sudden acceleration burst where it feels like you are being shot out of the tunnel. Minimum height to ride is 54"
Rip Ride Rockit (steel)
Max speed - 65 mph
Includes a non-inverting loop
Not sure how long the drop is, but the coaster itself is 167' high.
*You can select your own music, that plays while you are on the ride, which is fun. Minimum height to ride is 51"
Revenge of the Mummy (steel, indoors)
Max speed - 45 mph
No inversions, but you do go forwards and backwards during the ride.
*This one has a "story," the mummy is trying to kill you while you are on the ride. A lot of it is in the dark. Minimum height is 48"
There are also several kid-friendly coasters that are good for people who just want a brief, less intense roller coaster experience.
If you like motion simulator rides, also check out Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and the Simpsons - these were overall my two favorite rides. If you like video games/interactive rides, you will like Men In Black. If you like 3D, Spiderman is fun. If you like being shot up in the air really fast and then dropped, you will also like Dr. Doom. And if it's warm outside, you can cool off on the water rides - I got a little wet on Jurassic Park and Jaws, and completely soaked on Ripsaw Falls.
