We are coming in mid day on a Friday in December. We plan to do Downtown Disney (Earl of Sandwich) for lunch. We'd like to eat at a nice resort restaurant for our first real sit down meal in Disney.

Removing Ohana and Boma...which is your favorite? For food and ambiance. We were thinking Jiko so we could go to the beach after dinner to see the Electric Lights Parade and fireworks...but we'd like to hear other people's ideas too.

Thank!

Thats a tough one. We like Kona for breakfast, we are trying dinner next there in 2 weeks. We LOVE Cape May for breakfast and dinner and the Yachtsman too.

We def will not go back to Chef Mickeys, Concourse or 1900 Park Faire.

Thanks! We did Cape May on our last trip, so we'd like to try something different. That was the only resort dinner we had.

How about Artist Point at WL or WCC both are said to be good. I have never eaten at either but will be this upcoming trip. Also Flying Fish on the Boardwalk is wonderful. I personally did not like Cali Grill ( I know flame me) it was just not my cup of tea a 3 hour dinner service is just to much for me to handle after all day at the park.

I'll check out the menu for Artist Pointe...thanks! I don't think my people would like WCC...it's not that we aren't a fun loving family...but we prefer quieter sit down meals with no jokes/teasing.

We love the Poly and the atmosphere there. We will stay there sometime soon. We like the food better at Kona a lot more than Ohana. We will usually take the monorail from the Magic Kingdom. I like being there at night cause the grounds are beautiful at night. They have always had GREAT service and are very accomodating like if we have had sleeping children and the chef is great in working with our kids allergies.

My favorite restaurant for dinner.

Our favorte resort restaurant in 1900 Park Fare. Ambience is lovely, and a character meal is a great way to start off a WDW trip. You could ride monorail around to MK and see the Wishes without entering the park. Or watch the Electrical Water Pageant.

Kona Cafe is by far my favorite resort restaurant so far.

Jiko is at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and you cannot just walk out to a beach to see the Electrical Water Pageant from there (not sure if that was your intent, but it sounded like that's what you meant).

I second Artist Pointe. Service is excellent. The menu doesn't offer as many options as some restaurants. What they do serve, they do well.
I loved the mushroom soup and salmon. Also a great wine list. It is quiet, pretty and serene. If you time it right, you can see the Electrical Parade on WL beach when you finish. Also any excuse to visit the Lodge is a good one:goodvibes

We are all foodies in our group and take our meals at WDW very seriously!!! We've eaten at every TS available. In my humble opinion, JIKO at AKL will offer the quietest atmosphere. Many of the other places have good food but if you are looking for a quiet place, JIKO is the best bet. Especially if you and your group are adventurous with eating. None of us were overly impressed with Artist Pointe. We've been there twice and just aren't as excited as most other posters are. We found the menu pretty limiting and nothing out of the ordinary unless you want buffalo. Perhaps this is because we live on the west coast and salmon is pretty ordinary here--that probably makes it less special for us. If you were looking to watch the water pageant, you meant Narcoosie's which is a seafood place at the Grand Floridian. Lot of posters on here pick that as their favorite TS. We also like it but it's one we can miss and not feel bad about it. The menu does have variety and is one of the few places you can get lobster if that's what you are looking for. For best food (excluding Victoria & Alberts which is great but requires dressing for dinner), we like California Grill at the Contemporary. Very good food, including a great selection of sushi, but not limited to fish dishes. It's noisy in there too but has a great view of MK at night. This is one place that we have to go to each trip.

We had dinner at Narcoossee's at GF last week and it was fabulous! I was a bit worried about eating there with our two small children, but they actually did great. Our server was wonderful and the food was fantastic. Btw, DH ordered the main lobster and I orderd the surf and turf--no menu restrictions with the dining plan :thumbsup2 Narcoossee's was beautiful (right on the water) as was the resort. DH could not stop raving about the almond crusted cheesecake. Said it was the best dessert he has ever had! It had a rolled fondant piece with pictures of two of princesses/princes dancing on it. Very cool!

Kona is a good choice.

Of course you could go for California Grill. Get a later ADR and request a window table. Then you can watch the Electric Water Parade while eating dinner and then see the fireworks too (they pipe the music in there). Or if you get an earlier reservation, you could always go out on the deck area after your meal and view the fireworks from there.

Another nice choice in the MK area resorts would be Citricos. Awesome atmosphere and great food. Grand Floridian Cafe is another good one.

My would be for Yatchman's Steakhouse. So good it makes me hungury thinking about it.
