Favorite resort @ christmas time???

I keep going back and forth between wanting to plan a trip @ Halloween or early Dec.! I have a ds6! I need some resort advise to help me decide! If you were going @ Christmas time, where would you stay? And why?

WL has the best decorations IMHO, and it is cheaper than any every deluxe but the CR garden wings. If you're not there at Christmas time, I'd probably go with a monorail resort for the ease of a mid-day escape to the room from MK with your son.

I agree w/ Demosthenes, WL does have the best X'mas decor! We were there in mid Dec. and it was our first time at WL, once we walked in there, we were taken away by the decor in the lobby. We went around to EVERY other resort (we also stayed at the Dolphin during our Honeymoon there, but NOTHING compared to WL and it's ambiance.

The lobby was just MAGNIFICENT, they had garland hanging over the balconies, a HUGE X'mas tree in the middle of the lobby, and the resort is Beautiful, the grounds were so peaceful and it was so easy to get anywhere w/ the boats.


I would Definetly go back to WL during X'mas time!!!

I miss my honeymoon...it was so beautiful there!

But I think you and your son will enjoy it, it's just break taking.

The Grand Floridian is also beautifully decorated at Christmas. I think it would be a personal choice as to what type of atmosphere you enjoy. I don't think you could go wrong with the WL or the GF. I would definatedly set aside some time to resort hop and see all the decorations at the different hotels.

I've seen decorations at WL, BC and BWI. My favorite is BWI

WL has nice decorations but with the dark wood background, the docorations just didn't seem to stand out to me.

I thought the BWI was beautiful with their decorations. The lobby and public areas seem so elegant to me with the creams, gold, hard wood. Add to the lights, trees with lots of red and gold and I just thought it was the best. It's also a smaller and cozy space which I liked. The boardwalk exterior is also decorated.

I'd love to go back this year but need to cut the budget. So will give another resort a try. Maybe, AKL. Won't be going there for the xmas decorations but a whole other experience.

I'm with hightown. I thought that the BWI had the most beautiful XMas decorations. We were there last Nov., right after the decorations went up. I loved sitting in the lobby looking at the beautifully decorated XMas trees

We love the BWI at Christmas. I also like the fact that it is close to Epcot since we spend alot of time there over the Holiday.

Chrissyk, we must have been there at the same time. I was at W/L 11/9-11; BWI 11/12-16. BW is certainly my favorite so far but still working my way through all the resorts!

Jacksmom...I don't know how moderates or values decorate but I'm sure something is done at those too. I have thought about Halloween time. That would probably be fun with Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party but with our school schedule, that's not an option. Whatever you chose, it's still Disneyworld which is better then place! (IMHO)

We enjoyed AKL at Halloween time last year. And I agree with the others, WL or BWI would be my choice for Christmas!

Thanks for all your responses! We have finally decided to go in Oct. and we are definately leaning toward AKL! Does anyone know when AP rates will come out for Oct.? Also, when will Mnsshp tickets become available? Any other advise for Oct. would be appreciated! Thanks!!!!
