I think Sunshine Seasons is the best counter services anywhere in the world (that's the whole, wide world, not just Disney World!)!!

Thank you all for your great input. :) There are so many great choices and reading all the responses has reminded me of all the great qs dining in the World. We've enjoyed many of the restaurants that you all suggested but there were some common ones that we haven't tried that we'll have to go for this year. Captain Cooks, Columbia Harbor House and Pecos Bills were a few that we haven't tried that we'll check out this year. Thank you all again for the great input, I have the greatest list going!!! :thumbsup2

I figured I would add my $.02:

We really like:

MK: Pinocchio's Village Haus and Cosmic Rays
HS: Backlot Express
AK: Flame Tree
EP: ?? have not done QS there yet.

Double Post Sorry!

Sunshine Seasons at EPCOT is my personal favorite counter service location in all of WDW; fresh food, lots of choices, and I love the Land Pavilion!

This is so funny, Mom&RN- I could have written the exact same question- as a matter of fact I came over here to research QS for the exact same reasons- just that I am going 2 weeks from today. :goodvibes But since it is just DS11 & myself, I really want to keep costs down by doing a lot of CS. I usually am more of a TS traveler. We are staying at SSR- I plan to hit EOS the first day and the last day (before we leave) as I LOVE it there and it is SO REASONABLE! Also WPE, and I also have read many good things about Captain Cook's at the Poly and of course Columbia Harbor House. Boulangerie has some great & inexpensive sandwiches & yummy pastries, too. Really looking forward to this unexpected trip of ours- hope you have fun on yours!!:goodvibes

I'm drawing a blank - what is EOS?

I think the meal plan is a heck of a deal and I really, really needed to be convinced. My equally Disney fanatic co-worker talked me into it, actually crunching numbers on a calculator. Anyway, we love counter service and I think our favorites are Pecos Bills in MK, Backlot burger in HS, (the one adjacent to) Nine Dragons in Epcot, and the bakery in France (EPcot). We always go to Tusker House in AK, although with so many postings about Flame tree, we may do that another time! In Epcot, we like Electric Umbrella if we're in Future World (beware: this place gets very, very crowded).

MK: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, Columbia Harbour House
Epcot: Sunshine Seasons
AK: Pizzafari

I looked into the QS meal plan but decided against it because it included breakfast plus either lunch/dinner. I always eat breakfast in my room to save time and money, so this plan didn't work for me.

My favorite CS restaurants are:

Columbia Harbor House
Sunshine Seasons
Yak and Yeti
Earl of Sandwich
Wolfgang Puck Express
The fish-and-chips window @ Epcot
Boatwrights @ POR

Nothing at DHS appeals to me for CS (in a pinch, I might grab a sandwich @ Starring Rolls, but I don't like DHS restaurants much). I tend to plan my days so I'm not at DHS at mealtime.

Have you tried the fish and chips at the ABC Commisary? We like them alot, as well as those in Epcot / UK.

Hi! I too am getting ready for my trip and will be on the QSDP. We have used this before and it works really well for us.

I agree with what others have said:

MK-Pecos Bill, Cosmic Ray's, CHH
EP-Sunshine Seasons, Yakitori House
AK-Restarauntosaurus (we always eat in the trailer), Flame Tree BBQ
DHS-Pizza Planet, Backlot Express

**Also, I see you are staying at POP-I think the food court at POP has a great selection-we had some real winners on our last trip-pasta with bread, fried chicken meal, tie-dye cheesecake-yum!

Have a great trip!

Help those of you who have done QSMP before! I thought it was 2 QS meals, 2 snacks and a refillable mug per person. Do you have to have bkfst as one of the meals? We aren't big breakfast eaters and I was planning on using the QS meals for lunch and dinner but a previous poster (I haven't figured out how to quote yet) said something about QSMP being a bkfst and either a lunch or dinner. Anyone know??:confused3

Thanks!

You can use your QS credit for either breakfast/lunch/or dinner. Its your choice. You can use your credit for lunch and dinner then use your snack credits in the mornings for a snack if you wish. We always ate breakfast in the room, then used our QS credits for lunch and dinner. It worked well for us. Loved the meal plan!:woohoo:

Our Favorites:
MK-Pecos Bill
POR - Food court (we had a majority of our meals here, very good.)
Epcot - Electric Umbrella

Thank you, thank you. I was having a mild freak out :scared1: My plan was to do exactly what you do. Have bkfst in room then use our qs meals for lunch and dinner. We're flying southwest so can check bags for no extra cost so will pack some snack stuff for bkfsts. We aren't big breakfast eaters so I think this should work great. Thanks again!! :worship:

I like the Pepper Market at Coronado Springs. They have a great variety, and the food is better quality than fast food. Yes, this does mean having to go to that resort. But, it's a nice break in the day. :)
