We just booked for the end of May/early June and were able to use a PIN that was attached to our name/address to get FD!!! Very excited. Last minute trip is freaking me out a bit in our last 3 trips to the World, we had months to plan.

I know FD is completely "free" as it is built it, but nonetheless, I am very much looking forward to it. Love the 'already paid for' part of it.

SO, what/where is YOUR favorite counter service meal? We'll be staying at ASSports for the first time and have never eaten there. We'll most likely eat in the parks at least once a day and I'm sure we'll eat 1-2 meals at our resort, but I'm hoping to branch out a bit and try going to a couple of other resorts to try the counter services there.

Is there a counter service on the DDP at Contemporary? I'm sure we went there a few years ago, but it wasn't on the list I found earlier today. How is Pepper Market? Other resorts counter services??

TIA!!! :cheer2:

Cosmic Rays and Peco Bills in the MK, ABC Commissary in HS, Electric Umbrella and Sunshine Seasons in Epcot, Avalunch in Bb and Flame Tree in AK. Those are our favorite CS places. I can't wait to read other replys.

This is a pretty popular subject, so if you don't get a lot of replies I'm sure a search would generate some results (I understand wanting more current replies, though :goodvibes ).

Some popular ones and ones that we like are (in order by park):

MK: Peco's Bill
Columbia Harbor House
Cosmic Rays

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons
Electric Umbrella
Lots of people like the Lotus Blossom Cafe (I believe it's called) but we've never been there

HS: Definitely has the worst dining options
We only eat at the Backlot Express for lunch. ABC Commissary is known for being awful.
Pizza Planet--also in this park--is the typical Disney pizza you see everywhere--meh.

AK: Flame Tree BBQ
Yak & Yeti
The other CS option in this park is Pizzafari-it's the typical Disney pizza that you see at all CS places--not very good.

MK- Imho, Columbia Harbour house is the best CS out there. We prefer a nice lunch there and eat inside the overhang looking over Liberty Square/Fantasyland.

I prefer Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe for supper, I just love the atmosphere and scenery of Tomorrowland at night. The place is lit up beautifully and I just love the feel you get at night at Cosmic Ray's.

DHS- The ABC commissary is AWFUL stay away, and go to Pizza Planet! :rotfl:

At Epcot, I'm not a big fan of the Electric Umbrella, Imho.. I would go to a CS at a pavilion at WS, or Sunshine Seasons.

AK- PIZZAFARI or Flametree you cant go wrong with either one

Last year, I got a QS meal in the Japan pavilion at Epcot and it was surprisingly good. The iced green tea was a nice change of pace.

Tangierine Cafe @ Morocco in Epcot-food & service is always Great!
Tortuga Tavern (formerly Pirata y Perico-which may be in reverse, oops!) @ Adventure Land in MK-different hot food & SOMETIMES they try new items or maybe they're specials.

Our favorites include

AK: Flametree BBQ
EP: Yakatori House, Yorkshire Fish and Chips
MK: Cosmic Rays
At the resorts-Mara is amazing, as well as Captain Cooks.

Our family favorites are:
MK - Columbia Harbour House/Cosmic Rays/Peco Bill's
Epcot - Yakitori House /Yorkshre Fish and Chips/ Sunshine Seasons
DHS - Starring Rolls/ Pizza Planet
AK - Yak&Yati Counter Service/Flame Tree BBQ

Not exactly what you were asking for but there was a great thread a few weeks back, I am not sure which board. Anyway is was about doing disney on $40 a day including tax and tip. Loosley based on the rachel raye show. Any way it included alot of counter service with some TS. There were some really nice ideas. It was definatly not all hot dogs and hamburgers. Hope this helps.
