I have to say, Our family has barely scratched the surface of AK. Yeah, we've done all the biggies, but we have been very guilty of making this a half-day Park. I know we are missing alot. I love the themeing & have always enjoyed everything we've done there. This upcoming trip, we plan to spend alot of time there (staying part of the trip at AKL to make this even easier)

Please tell me all about your favorite things at AK - Not just the big rides/shows - but the little things too..... Favorite snacks, animals, streetmosphere, shopping.... I'd love to hear about the Jammin Jungle Parade as we've never even done that!

the Forest walk and the Jungle Trek (in Africa and Asia) are really nice.
Look for "Devine"...she likes to hide in the foliage. (we always forget to look for her!)

In front of Dawa bar in Africa they have these gymnasts doing some pretty cool things - definetly check them out!

We have a DS6. He loved the trails. We walked the trails first thing, while everyone else was racing to Kilimanjaro Safari. Not many people, lots of animals.

The Drummers in Africa are Awsome to watch.

Of course there are the major attractions like the safari, Dinosaur, and FOTLK.

However, we really enjoyed the Flights of Wonder Show. We only seen it for the first time this past fall. We always skipped over it. It was really cute and funny. A great way to take a break out of the sun.

We had some time to kill before the Tarzan show, so kids did the playground in Dino Land for the first time and loved it. It has some great slides. They would have stayed in for an hour if we let them...

I think something that gets overlooked are all the animal exhibits in the Oasis at the entrance....left and right has different animals....I also think Rafikis area is a great get away....

Ok, I know it's not an attraction but one of my family's favorite things about AK is that Pal Mickey talks ALOT there. He narrates your trip and explains about things to look at all over the park. Example - the ribbon tree in Asia, normally you'd just walk on by but Pal Mickey explains the whole story about the tree. Pal Mickey forces you to slow down a bit and enjoy the parks more!

Tusker House has great food (best counter service on property IMO) and if weather permits get a table outside. People watching and listening to the African music makes for an atmosphere that can't be beat. AK is my absolute favorite park and on my next trip I plan on spending a couple of days there!

As you can see from my name, Harambe is one of my favortie areas of the park. I like to shop here, and find the offerings to be a bit more adult oriented as far as clothes go. For example the Safari sweatshirts and things don't all have Pooh or Mickey on them.

We also like to have lunch at FlameTree BBQ. Not only is the food good (pulled pork sandwich - Yum!) but the outdoor seating is so relaxing and beautiful.

We also enjoyed the Flights of Wonder that someone else mentioned. And the street entertainment next to and across from the Dawa Bar is fun. Grab a beer at the Dawa and sip it while you watch the parade!

How about Conservation Station and the behind the scenes look at the AK on the train ride over. We go everytime and it's typically empty.

AK is my favorite park. I love the discovery island trails (enter in back of the FP machines for ITTBAB, also the trails on the other side of the tree of life, closer to the river. Then I like to sit on the former boat landing, across from Flights of Wonder. The only overlooked attraction I especially love is one I read about on these boards recently, the Pocohontos animal training shows. If you're a Pocohontos fan, it's not the best time to see the show, but if you're interested in animals, it's fascinating. I went to both shows one day, because they train different animals in each show.

Thanks everyone. The last 3 trips I made to WDW were relatively short hops. As much as I loved spending time at AK the dozen or so visits to it I have made, it was the Park that got the short shrift on my quick trips. At least on the last trip in Oct., I made time to stop over to Tusker House for lunch before going to the airport.

While walking thru, I was reminded what a Gorgeous Park AK is! Also, while enjoying our lunch out back & listening to the ambient sounds coming from the upstairs windows, I was impressed with how complete the themeing is.

I am so excited to spend some serious time at AK. We added 3 nights at AKL to our trip to make our AK experience convienent & complete.

Keep those AK tips coming! I think this is a Park we often overlook here.

Rafikis planet watch and conservation station. I love it when they bring the animals out. We always have a laugh at the goats too, its so funny when they try and eat peoples clothes!
I also  the meerkats, tigers, and gorillas and walking through the forest trail listening to the music.
I like the African artefacts that they sell in the shops. I love AK. :flower1:
