We're renting a vacation home for our next trip, and we have a few ADRs, but want to try out a couple of places in the area, as well as making our own food. We'll be in Kissimmee.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Never get over to Kissimmee much. We live in Dr. Phillips and here are a few of my favourites around our area and where they are located. Not sure what style of food you like but here goes ...

Bee Won Korean Cuisine - Dr. Phillips
The Yard House - I-Drive
Vines Bar & Grille - Dr. Phillips
The Ale House - Many locations ... I-Drive & Off Disney property by Hotel Plaza Blvd.
Bubbalous BBQ - Near Kirkman Rd. close to Universal

Our favorite is Columbia Restaurant in Celebration, and there are several other good choices there as well.

Here's a link to a thread about the "Best Offsite Restaurants:" http://www.disboards.com/threads/best-off-site-restaurants-thread.498998/

And another link to a post in that same thread with a list of several Celebration eateries. The thread is an old one, but most of the Celebration restaurants listed are still there -- which, in itself, tells you they're pretty good. http://www.disboards.com/threads/best-off-site-restaurants-thread.498998/page-24#post-34956129

Another vote for Bubbalou's.....seriously yummy barbecue.

Hash House a Go Go

Carrabba's

Margaritaville

If you are staying in Kissimmee, be sure to visit one of the Twistee Treats for ice cream, and the Krispy Kreme for donuts!

The Dr Phillips area has a lot of great restaurants, some mentioned above. Others are Roy's, Chatham Place, Christini's Italian, Fleming's Prime Steak, Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine, Amura Japanese, and maybe the best breakfast spot in the area, First Watch.

Hash House is a trip. It started in San Diego and is know for giant portions. The pancakes are the size of manhole covers.

I'll add in Fogo de Chao and Texas de Brazil.

I agree with GoBears 1980 on Dr. Phillips has some great places to eat. I try and steer most clear of a few just due to price range, say at Christini's. We have spent more on a meal there than some do on their entire vacation. Type of establishment that the menu does not have prices on it.

GREAT place. Just a tad more than 99% of people I would think are willing to spend on dinner on vacation. I could be wrong there, though. It's happened before.

Love Prime and Chatham as well. We actually ate at Chatham's last evening. Another awesome meal there.
