Favorite Non-Park Activity?

We've been to Disney many times with and without family. My parents are joining us for an off-property stay this November. My parents no longer enjoy my commando style so I'm tailoring this next 7 day trip to be a little more relaxed.

I am considering: Pirates Dinner Adventure & Gatorland.

We have planned: 1 day at a water park, 1 day at Disney Quest, 2 days of theme parks, which leaves us 2 full days of other activities.

I'd love to hear your suggestions!

We always spend at least part of one day at Downtown Disney/WestSide. Very nice shops and some good places to eat. We also do some hotel hopping on property. We like to have lunch at Beaches and Cream. Last trip, we did dinner at Boma. Got there about an hour early to check out the hotel and the animals before it got dark.

Off-property, we do Orlando Premium Outlets and/or Belz Outlets. We always do Old Town one evening. Neat shops, fun rides. My daughter and I love riding go-karts and don't have a track anywhere near home. There is also a huge go-kart track on I-drive but we haven't tried that one yet.

Another nice offsite shopping area is Pointe Orlando on I-drive. Nice shops and atmosphere. Also some other attractions around there like Wonderworks and Ripley's museum.

We also like to spend an afternoon in Celebration. Its a great place to get away from the crowds of the parks. Cafe D'Antonio has wonderful Italian food. The Wyland gallery is worth a trip even if you can't afford to purchase anything there (like us - just go to browse). And don't rule out a movie - theaters at Downtown Disney and in Celebration.

We always go to medieval times, everyone always has a great time. Come early as there is a lot of cool pre show stuff to see.

One year (what a mistake) we skipped medieval times and saw the pirate show. Well I sure was disappointed. Nice set, but just not as entertaining.

As for Disneyquest, We love this place.

We have used them again and again. We usually just have them deliver the tickets to our hotel in orlando, so they are there when we check in.

We always visit a state park.They are so beautiful and a real change from the hectic style of the "other"parks.You can take picnics and have a really relaxing day in the real florida.

We loved DQ when we went there, but that was soon after it opened. At that time, you paid as you went, so you could spend as much or as little time as you wanted to. We haven't been back since they went to flat pricing to get in. It just isn't worth it to us because we don't want to spend a whole day there. I think it was much better when you bought a stored value card and could come and go whenever you wanted. You could come in and do one or two activities and leave and come back another day and do more. I wish they would go back to that pricing model.
