Favorite New Balance Shoes

I love to wear my Teva Mush and Crocs in the parks but since we are traveling in December this year I thought I should bring something warmer. I've read so many good things about new balance I decided to look into them and wow it is overwhelming. There are so many different shoes I don't really know where to start, so what new balance model do you like to wear in the parks?

They stopped making the best IMO. The 608 was soft, supportive, good arch, just perfect.

The closest I can find is the 609 which I find inferior. Less cushion, less arch, and the part that touches the bottom of the foot doesn't feel seamless. Still a decent shoe, but not my fav. RIP 608

I just bought a new pair of New Balance running shoes. I usually get the walking shoe, but for some reason they fit too loose on the heel this time. These running shoes are actually better for walking than the walking shoes. They did cost $200 as opposed to the $120 for the others, but they are so very comfortable! You can't get them at Kohl's or somewhere like that. We have a special New Balance shoe store that carries the higher numbered shoes, which are the better made shoes. Also, all New Balance shoes have the insoles that come out so if you have need of a special orthodic, it fits!

My foot doctor recommended the New Balance 811 shoes. My orthodics fit great with the insole removed. I think they were about $89 at our local shoe store that carries New Balance.

My foot doctor said new balance shoes are the best shoes ever to put on your feet. A close second was a shoe zappos or any larger place might have like zappos.com is called brooks.

I have a pair of New Balance 801 recovery shoes -- they are like a slide-on sneaker meant to be worn after a run, etc. I wear them as an everyday shoe & brought them to WDW. They were great because I was used to wearing them.

I have worn new balance for years. When I was first looking at them I realized that the lower number had less support than the higher numbers. When I asked about this, the sales person said that the higher the number the better the support. The lower number the less the support. I'veived by that advice when e er I buy new sneakers & they are always new balance!

I just got a pair of 608's today at Shoe Carnival. I'm glad to hear how much you loved them. My favorite was the 622, but they don't have them anymore. I found them online so maybe you could check online and find the 608. Do you have a Shoe Carnival near you?

Fell in love with NB a few years ago until I got Achilles tendonitis and now I wear a clog slip on type Skecher, which I love. NB shoes are awesome and I think the PP is right the 608 or 609 are best. I am trying Skecher full back tennis shoes for this trip, they arrived today and I have a week to break them in....wish me luck...or I my get NB next time.

I used the "tools" on the NewBalance website to help me select the shoe that best suited me.
They make shoes for different foot types. Some of their shoes would be a terrible choice for me. The shoes their website recommended for me fit great.
Some people walk on the inside of their heels, have low arches and narrow width.
Others might walk on the outside of their heels, have high arches and wide feet.
New Balance has a shoe that matches your unique foot.

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! I love NB but I hate the first few weeks of having to get the arch sufficiently mashed down for my flat feet- now I know to look for a lower number! I am not sure of the numbers of shoes that I have but they were $35 at Rack Room so I'm guessing they're not the best- but still VERY comfy and they replaced a pair that is 7 or 8 years old (another cheap pair, I've never invested in the $100+ pairs since I've had such good luck w/the cheap ones).

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this! I love NB but I hate the first few weeks of having to get the arch sufficiently mashed down for my flat feet- now I know to look for a lower number! I am not sure of the numbers of shoes that I have but they were $35 at Rack Room so I'm guessing they're not the best- but still VERY comfy and they replaced a pair that is 7 or 8 years old (another cheap pair, I've never invested in the $100+ pairs since I've had such good luck w/the cheap ones).
