I am piggy backing off of the crocs thread because it was interesting. It had me thinking about Disney shoes. I have never been able to wear tennis shoes in the parks. They get too uncomfortable after a while and start to give me blisters. My favorite shoes are the Adidas/Nike flip flops with the soft memory foam insole.

What are your favorite shoes and why?

My wife says that Sketchers Go Walks are made from "angel wings". Not sure about that, but she tried all sorts of expensive walking / running shoes before the go walks and now all she wears on our two week long trips are go walks.

After reading about them on another thread, I decided to buy a pair of GoWalks while I was in Washington this week. I got back to the hotel and sat on a bench in the sun to check my e-mail when a woman came up to me and asked me if I was wearing Skecher GoWalks (I didn't want to take them off after I tried them on). When I said yes, she said "I have a pair too - they're my Disney shoes". So funny, because that's exactly why I bought them :)

I recently found Grasshoppers Janey Canvas. They feel like I'm walking with my feet wrapped in pillows.

I found the most fabulous shoes for my WDW trip three weeks ago. They're Skechers Memory Foam Sneakers. It's like walking on marshmallows! I have lots of foot problems, and have never found what I consider the "perfect" shoe. I didn't have one bit of foot pain with these sneakers, and I didn't even use Bodyglide or Moleskin once. I didn't even have time to formally "break in" these shoes before my trip (I know, that's a rookie mistake!) but didn't have a bit of trouble. They were amazingly comfortable right out of the box.

This is the type of shoe that I bought: Women's Synergy A-Lister. http://www.skechers.com/style/11792/synergy-a-lister/lghp

PS - these Skechers have memory foam just like Skechers Go Walks do, but they're regular lace-up sneakers instead of slip-ons (like Go Walks are). Since my trip was in February, I wanted regular sneakers so I could wear socks if I needed to (and we did heave a couple of cool days where I needed socks). But I thought the sneaker version might be too hot for really warm temperatures, so my next trip I think I'll bring some Go Walks and some Skechers sneakers!

Skecher GO WALKs. I wore them to a trip to DC and to Disney and they made a believer out of me. I have recommended them to several people.

You already own your most comfortable shoes for the parks. Go to your closet and pick out the shoes you wear every day for hours on end. Those are the ones to take to WDW because they are well broken in.

You'll get lots of suggestions for various brands here. Unfortunately, unless that person is your exact same height, weight, gender, arch, gait, and a bunch of other parameter match you can't expect the same results.

This is true, however, since I have to dress up, my everyday shoes aren't very comfy! :-) My DH thinks it is weird that I go with Flip Flops at Disney, but they work for me.

I was thinking about Keens but, after trying them on in the store today, thought the inner sole is too hard and will hurt my feet. Really thinking about the Skechers Go Walks now based on feedback I've seen on these forums. Are they good for rainy days? I stalk these shoe/feet management threads. :)

I wear the Nike flip flops & love the Addidas cloud flip flops, like walking on air.
I have one pair of the Sketchers Go Walks & really like them but I don't think I would be comfortable in them all day at Disney.

I'm with you on the Nike flip flops with memory foam. I have "odd" feet and have the most difficult time finding comfortable shoes. I just bought a new pair of these to wear for my September trip and will probably buy a second pair. I find tennis shoes bulky, especially if it rains. I've tried Crocs and they are too sweaty for me!

I also flip flop it at the parks. I like the nike memory foam types. I do carry mole skin with me to take car of any spots that rub.

I just purchased a pair of the Go Walks online and am now waiting eagerly for their arrival. I have heard nothing but rave reviews for them so my expectations are pretty high. I plan to start wearing them daily once I get them, do that all spring and summer and hopefully by our fall WDW trip my feet will be really used to them.

I had major feet issues on our last WDW vacation. I was in so much pain I was barely able to walk by the end of our trip. I also had blisters, which just made it all the worse. I ride a recumbent bike and walk quite a bit at home so it really surprised me when my feet betrayed me like that. The trips we had taken to WDW before this my feet were not a problem. I wonder if the intense heat and humidity of September was a contributing factor? Our previous trips had all been in winter.
It was frustrating because I wasn't getting tired, I felt like I had the energy to keep moving but, every step was torture on my feet so it became a real negative issue after a couple days.

Everyone is different. What is right for some is not right for others. I had bought a pair of Clarks sandals that I thought were super comfy and cool but, I wore them our first day to AK and it rained buckets. My feet were wet and sliding all over in them and I got a couple blisters.

I made a few mistakes as well.. I was soaking my feet in super hot water every night and only understood after I returned that I was actually making the problem worse. Now, I know to soak in cold water.. and I have also heard wearing compression socks at night will help a lot with the swelling. I also know now that mole skin doesn't really work for me to prevent blisters and the next trip I am trying the Body Glide stuff.

I find that anything made with some type of orthotic support works wonders in the parks. I like Aetrex, Orthaheel, Ecco, or Abeo. All great brands and your feet will thank you. Mine have.
