Can anyone tell me which moderate is most convenient to get around (to the check in, food, main pool, etc.)? I've read that the Coronado is the largest to get around, are the other mods similar? The POR and CSR are the only mods available for our april trip, but I'm hearing CSR is just too big to get around. I'm also wondering which of the two (CSR or POR) has better bus service and/or is more convenient to the parks.
Thanks!

I just checked the ratings & reviews at Allears.net for each resort. POR comes in at 8.53 and CSR at 8.21. Both are very good ratings.
You might want to head over there and read what people are saying about each resort. I think they're both comparable in size and convenience.

POFQ is the smallest of the moderates and the easiest to get around. Haven't been there in awhile so don't know much about the buses.

POR, CSR, and CBR are all very big. POFQ is very small and easy to get around. We prefer CBR to the other moderates - Beautiful grounds, white sand beaches, hammocks by the lake, Caribbean music playing quietly everywhere, a relaxing tropical feel, a beautiful bridge and island, great and huge food court, friendly CM's, double sinks in the bathroom with LOTS of storage space underneath, and the LARGEST rooms of all the moderates! All that, PLUS a brand new zero entry pool and the new children's pirate pool. It’s like a vacation within a vacation, a “leave your worries at the door” kind of place! :cloud9:

Just do some research and figure out which resort would fit your family best and which type of theming you prefer. It's likely that rooms will become available at all of them by April. Keep checking back often.

Good luck and enjoy! :goodvibes

CSR!! I love CSR for the atmosphere, great CM's and the deluxe-lite feel. CSR offers a spa, salon, full menu room service and fitness center not to mention a terrific main pool area and the best transportation that is not shared with any other resort. It's like taking two vacations in one. Queen beds too!

CBR is by far the biggest resort. CBR surrounds a 45 acre lake and CSR surrounds a 15 acre lake.

POR and CSR are about the same size.

You didn't mention CBR as a choice but I think you should think about it. CBR is currently being refurbished. They have a beautiful new pool complex.

It truly feels like you have escaped from the world when you are at CBR. There is a bridge across the lake so you never have that long of a walk to get to the food court and main pool area.

CSR is also undergoing a rehab which began 2 days ago. They are also adding club level rooms to CSR and 100 more king beds.

Actually, OP said that only POR and CSR were available during her stay in April and that is why she did not mention CBR or POFQ.

We love the CSR because it is as close to a deluxe as you will get without paying the price. It is no larger than POR. We prefer the food court at CSR, we love the pool at CSR, the fact that it has a spa/fitness center, the quiet pools, the beauty of the resort--landscaping, wild life, etc.

We don't use the buses...we rent a car. And we have never stayed at the POR, but I believe they share buses with the POFQ.

CSR!! Great main pool area, awesome transportation, and terrific food options. Check out my CSR website (by clicking on my name above) for pics and info. CSR now has queen beds in all the rooms and will have club level rooms as of 01/2009!!

CSR is my fave, just ask for a room near the main building and you will be fairly close to everything.

Hi everyone! I am going next year and am planning on booking this week. I wanted to stay in a moderate resort, so whats your favorite one and why? Any suggestions or thoughts would be great! Thanks

I would stay at one of the Port Orleans resorts. We have toured Carribean Beach and Coronado Springs, and while they are beautiful, they are huge. Port Orleans Riverside is also large, but nice and shady, with beautiful walkways and landscaping. French Quarter is the most manageable moderate and would probably be my pick. They only downfall is the smaller gift shop/ food court area. The pool looks really fun though.

We stayed at the CBR in 2004 and LOVED it! We were in Jamacia, and it seemed close to everything. Our room seemed big for the four of us (DH, DD4, and DD7). The landscaping was so lush and tropical, I felt like we had two vacations in one! One to Disney, and one to a tropical island.

I loved staying at POR .. loved the grounds.. I requested to stay:love:  in the mansion rooms.
