Favorite Menu item at Blue Bayou?

I always like getting the pork chops.
I was also suprised at how good the gumbo was bc I usually don't eat gumbo. I still miss the option of getting clam chowder though.

We were just there a couple weeks ago for dinner and splurged on the crab legs - extra yummy! They come split so you don't have to go cracking and picking and getting messy.

another vote for short ribs . . . .

Crab LegS are Delish!
:sad1: Sorry Sebastian

My daughter and I went there for lunch a couple of weeks ago & split the seafood Jambalaya it was very good. I heard on these boards that when you split a meal that you both get a side dish (gumbo or salad) but the waitress said they no longer do that so we had to split the salad also but it was very good.

Going to DL for the first time next month!!!!! :yay:

Two Questions:

What kind of dressing is on the wedge salad that you guys love???

Are the Monte Cristos (sp??) sandwiches available for dinner or only lunch??

Thanks!!

heres another vote for the jambalaya...man is it good....I remember they used to serve really good jambalaya at French Market and then the portions got smaller and it wasnt as spicy...Jazz Kitchen gives big portions but no spice at all...BB has the perfect amount of spice and great portions....but I have to tell you short rib people...the best short ribs I ate are at Catal...they were served over polenta cakes and had a fantastic deni glaze sauce man were they ever good...

this past june we went for lunch and we split the crab cakes and the monte cristo sandwich. my dd had the fried pb&j sandwich and loved it! the crab cakes were to die for!! we dined by the water and the dern boats were broke down that day!!

My favorite like a lot of people, is the Monte Cristo. I'm such a piggy I usually eat the whole thing! I also really like a meal I had there a few years ago, it was the special of the day "Beef Short Ribs" with cream cheese mashed potatoes.

MMMmmmm,
I love that place!

I have to preface this with the fact that I was 7 months pregnant with DS when I last ate at BB.

That being said, I had the adult sized portion of the "kid's" peanut butter and jelly Monte Cristo and it was AMAZING! Granted paying $18.99 for two jazzed up and deep fried uncrustables sandwiches and some grapes is practically unconscionable, but it's Disney after all and it made me happy.

Earlier in the pregnancy I was the same girl who was making pb&j sammies at the Crystal Palace at WDW too instead of eating prime rib and shrimp, so what can I say... DS loved anything with peanut butter while in utero, and is looking forward to his 3rd b-day (a mere 2 years and 6 weeks from now) when mommy will let him have peanut butter again!

How has the spilt plate changed? Do you not each get a side item? We will be eating there in a few weeks!!

Another vote for Jambalaya & wedge salad!
The jambalaya was so good, I wish I could eat all of it .. but I get heartburn easily from eating it. But I'm still up for eating it!

About the split change, I saw on the menu about a charge.
I forgot what it was but it was like $5-7 ? Don't quote me though

Yes they have changed the split plate policy. You only get one side now instead of each of you getting your own. We were there for lunch so maybe the dinner policy is different.

Is the spilt policy still the same price then?

The crab cakes appetizer were very good.

I had the Mahi mahi and it was not good. Very overcooked, and plopped on a bed of bone-dry spinach.
