I had a dream last night about EPCOT back in 1991 when I went, and saw Dreamfinder and Figment together....It was really awesome. 3 of us were playing in the jumping fountain, and the 2 of them came out and joined in for a bit...we were first in line to get pics. It really was a great day.

So I pose the question, What is your favorite memory of rides or attractions now gone forever?

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was one of my favorites. I know it was corny, but why???

The original Journey Into Imagination, Mr. Toads Wild Ride and the Sky Ride.

Well, I've only been going to WDW for the past 6 years or so, so there aren't THAT many things that are gone :) Still, the one that jumped immediately to mind was the "Tapestry of Nations / Dreams" parade at Epcot. I remember taking DD to WDW when she was just over a year old, and she was just terrified of the characters (except Mickey, who she went right to without a problem :confused3 ). But as we sat and watched that wonderful parade, several of the "puppeteers" came by and had their puppets playing with Elora....and the smiles and laughs were enough to really touch this ol' dad's heart, let me tell ya' ::yes::

To this day I don't know why they took that parade away, but I always miss it every time we visit Epcot.

The Great Illuminations... BRING IT BACK!!

The Omni room at Horizons. Actually all of Horizons.

The original JII.

Different types of shops on Main Street USA. I really liked the magic store.

The smooth fountain in front of EPCOT. Get rid of Stonehedge!

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Sorcery in The Sky Fireworks at MGM... Bring that back too!

This may stound strange, but the very first time I went on Spaceship Earth I was so excited I had a panic attack. Now it's the very first ride we do on every trip. Also, on our second trip to the Worls, I was amazed how much smaller it had gotten in 1 year. Need less to say we were overwhelmed the first time around.

We were engaged in front of Cinderella's castle in 1990. We were sitting on the edge of the flower bed. Back then there was no statue of Walt and Mickey, only flowers. Every time I see pictures of the statue, I remember back to when it was only flowers.

I agree with Virgo10. I loved the different stores on Main Street. Now all the stores everywhere are the same.

The Main Street Electrical Parade!

The original Journey Into Imagination was my absolute favorite in all the parks when I was little. I haven't seen the updated version.

Carousel of Progress will most likely be closed when I go in November, but I have such fond memories of it. I'm really sad about it being seasonal.

I remember going on Alien Encounter with my brother on my last trip. My parents were too afraid to go on it. It was probably the last time I'll ever go to WDW with my brother. I'm really sad they're changing it.

I MISS WORLD OF MOTION AND HORIZONS!!!

::sigh:: Is it too late to cancel my trip? ;) (j/k...I wouldn't do that. I'm too excited about going again!)

My favorite memory is not of an attraction, but a resturaunt-a character meal specifically. I LOVED the Melvin the Moose character breakfast at FW, and when all the little kids(and parents) would yell "Wake up, you silly moose". But if I have to pick an attraction, it would have to be "World of Motion", seeing those cars go up from outside the pavillion, brought me back to my childhood at the New York World's Fair.

Ok here is another for me...

The old If you could fly attraction in Tomorrowland...That was a great ride...

I REALLY miss "If You Had Wings" and the Main Street Electrical Parade. My strongest memory of 1970's WDW is seeing Pete's Dragon in that parade just after the movie came out. I thought the kid riding him WAS the Pete from the movie and I was thrilled!

I agree with Virgo and Maleficent.::yes::

I also miss the 20K Leagues. Yeah, it was a little cheesy. But where else could you take a "submarine" ride? In that respect, it was cool. Besides, a corny sub ride has to be better than a big empty sad lagoon.

I miss Horizons!!!! It was one of my all time favorite rides and really embodied what Epcot is all about.

another vote for "Tapestry of Nations / Dreams" here. I also miss the vilan's character meal.

I guess I miss the sky ride the most - always did that.

The current Illumniations bores me - I loved it when they played the music from all the different countries and lit up their building.

I miss Horizons, especially the orange scent, the old Journey Into Your Imagination and If You Had Wings. I also liked the original narration in Spaceship Earth.

"If you Had Wings" & it's follower "DreamFlight"

"Horizons" (fortunately, I have some video) & "World of Motion"

But most of all, I miss being in the MK until 1 a.m. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of the things I miss are : Horizons(being able to choose your own ending and the thoughts of what the future maybe like were just the topic that interested me at the time) , World of Motion ( I just loved the humorous way it looked at the history of transportation) , and being able to pose with your favorite character without having to wait in a long line. It was so cool being able to walk around the park (the MK most usually) and sometimes just finding characters appearing out of nowhere. And some of the characters available at the time sure aren't around anymore (the 3 little Pigs and Brer Fox as examples) . :(
