Im sure this has been asked already...(so im sorry if it has)

Ive never eaten anywhere in Disney as a kid (we always went back and ate at the hotel)...this will help give me ideas of where to eat.

What is your favorite meal you've had at Disney and where? (any where-park/resort)

:maleficen

First, my picks:

Cinderella's Royal Table is the best for atmosphere (you're eating in the Castle!) or for young girls if you do a princess meal (breakfast or lunch) Second is California Grill- you can see the castle, and fireworks if you time it.

Kona and 'Ohana are best for food quality and overall enjoyment of the meal. It's just my taste 100 %.

Best for kids is probably Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary.

Best snacks are: Fiesta Margaritas in Epcot (Mexico) and Ice Cream Sandwiches from Main Street in MK.

You can also use the search tab at the top of the page to search old threads if you want more info- there have been threads about "best counter service", "best snacks", "best at xxxx locale" etc. Those might be helpful, especially once you decide where you're going to be. (Itinerary) Really, most of the best places are in resorts, not the parks, so there might be 6 great dinner places in resorts that appeal to you, but itinerary wise that might not be reasonable. You'll have to find places that match your schedule.

You might also want to look at the affectionately termed "food porn" thread aka "Post your Disney Dining Pictures Here" to see what's offered where and get a feel for what you'd prefer. Also , look at the menus on allearsnet.com. Menus can change, but signature items will usually remain and the type of food and pricing will rarely change unexpectedly.

Decide how many table service you can afford/care to eat at/have room in your schedule/belly for and where you will be before you can really pick the best places.

Once you've narrowed it down, it's easier to compare. Disney has like 300 restaurants! Hard to say which ones are the best exactly - some have great food, great atmosphere, great value, food for kids, etc.

Good luck!

It really depends on your taste. We are not big red meat eaters so we have not been to Le Cellier and the other steak houses, which usually get very good reviews.

Go to allears.com and look at the menus to see what strikes your fancy.

Our favs change from trip to trip, but right now we are big fans of 'Ohana at the POLY, Boma at AKL and Restaurant Marrakesh in EPCOT. We have also enjoyed the seafood buffet at Cape May at BC.

PS From one nutmeger to another, My DW would be happy to see your Yankee fan signature, but as far as the rest of our family goes, I have to say GO RED SOX :thewave:

Believe it or not, on our last trip, Nine Dragons @ Epcot was our favorite meal!
Lunch at LTT @ MK was also one of our favorites. We've enjoyed SciFi @ MGM and San Angel @ Epcot. We also liked Trails End for lunch. This trip, we're trying some different places like O'Hana, Biergarten, Brown Derby so maybe we'll have a new favorite.

Just as the previous poster mentioned it depends on your tastes. The restaurants at WDW vary depending on theme.

Our favorite is Ohana's at the Polynesian. We love the food they server from appatizers to the skewers of meat and the pineapple and chocolate at the end. It is delicious. We also love the Hawaiian/tropical theme of the resort and restaurant!

I love the set lunch at Chefs de France -- a salad, croque monsieur, and chocolate mousse. Yum! The Croque Monsieur is really good and is pretty authentic when compared with the bistros I've been to.

Also love the cheddar cheese soup and mushroom filet at Le Cellier.

For quicker eats, I love anything from Flame Tree BBQ in AK and you can't beat the fixins bar at Pinnochio's Village Haus.

My fave pic for high-end eating is V&As!
As for more reasonable dining, lol, I've enjoyed them all but I think I have a special soft spot for Whispering Canyon and the Biergarten (mainly because of the way my kids love those two places!)

OHHHH... did someone say cheddar chees soup. LeCellier has been a favorite of ours for a long time, as well as Ohana's (We eat there almost every trip).
Our favorite place when we are without the kids is California Grill.

I lived in Fla for nearly five years and so ushered lots of snowbirds around the parks, only eating counter meals because back in the 70s all the food tasted as bad as it still does at CRT :maleficen

But WDW has come a lonnnnng way in terms of food quality and now its one of the main reasons we go. We've eaten our way around the world several times.

Our best meal, ever? Easy. California Grill, for every reason!

10 years ago Teppanyaki in the Japan building at World Showcase blew our socks off. First thing DH said to me upon booking this trip was, gotta go back there. I can't remember what we ate, but it was awesome!

Chicken Ala Rojas (sp?) at San Angel Inn, Mexico, WS Epcot. That was amazing!

My husband and I ate at LeCellier in Epcot a few years ago and were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and not as expensive as we were expecting for that type of place. At MGM we ate at the SCI-FI dine-in theater. I hear a lot of people give it bad ratings. The food was so-so. But we liked the atmosphere. It was silly and fun. Somewhere you won't find to eat at home. It is more like an attraction than a fine dining experience. If you look at it that way it's fun. :earsgirl:
