What is your favorite "off the beaten path" restaurant. Somewhere that may be out of the way slightly or just not somewhere people normally flock to. But you've eaten there and very much enjoyed it. Weather its for the food, or the ambiance. Do you have any tips or reccomendations for this place? Thanks for any responses. The reason i ask is because i just recently read a review about the trails end Buffet at fort wilderness and hadnt eaten there in years. Totally forgot about the place but it seemed like it may be time to go back. We all enjoy our favorite while on a WDW vacation, but after a while you just want to do some different things.

Saw the title and the first thing I thought of was Trail's End. It does seem to be getting a lot more talk lately, but we tried it for the first time two years ago and really enjoyed it. Went back last year as well. Relaxing boat ride from MK, not crowded, friendly staff, and good home-cooking type food. Best ribs I'd had in a long time! Definitely worth the trip there!

Definitely agree about Trails End. We ate there for dinner with last-minute ADR a few years ago, first time eating there in many years, we were pleasantly surprised. On our trip we actually walked over from WL, about a mile walk and we saw lots of deer in the woods.

Other hidden gem for us is Grand Floridian Cafe, good food and not too expensive and never busy when we've been there. With all the expensive/popular restaurants at GF, we have never had a problem with last minute ADR or just walking in to GFC.

Not sure how much of a hidden gem it is anymore, but Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club. It always seemed to get over-shadowed by all of great table service locations at the nearby World Showcase. For my money, the best burger on property.

Kona Café has always been a popular choice for breakfast, but we've discovered it's also a fantastic choice for dinner! The menu is extensive, food is delicious and prices quite reasonable (by Disney standards). It's become a favorite for my family!

I liked Whispering Canyon Cafe when we went there last year. They do an "all you care to eat" with barbecue-type food. Excellent cornbread, pulled pork, sausage, beans, etc. And the fruit cobbler is excellent, too!

Never been to Bull and Bear, but it's on my bucket list of places to go to. I think it would be my steakhouse choice for WDW--no dining plan and offsite, means you probably could plan less than 180 days out (yay!).

My hidden gem is Olivias. Not sure I'd go there unless I was staying at OKW, but when we did stay there, we loved it. Also want to try Kona Cafe on some trip.

Shutter's at CBR. Got a new chef a couple of years ago and the food has greatly improved. Do it on each trip now.

Tutto Gusto, La Cava del Tequila, BlueZoo, Picabu and Sanaa are some of my favorites

I like eating at Rose and Crown at lunchtime, eating outside on the back deck. Such an enjoyable experience!

We loved Olivia's for both breakfast and dinner when we stayed at OKW and Sanaa when we stayed at AKV. I'm not sure if it would be considered off the beaten path, but we loved Cape May at the Beach Club for breakfast. I think it's one of the lesser known character meals.

I'd have to say The Turf Club : For it's Prime rib...For sure over at SSR

I know that this is probably in the minority, but at DTD We really enjoy Bongo's. Great food , fun & atmosphere:confused3

Kona Cafe (I know, not really off the beaten path) especially for lunch
Maya Grill at CSR

Several years ago we booked dinner at Shutters after my little DGD hit a wall in Epcot. We went back to CBR and canceled Coral Reef and booked SHutters becasue we knew we needed to eat. Best meal! The Chef was one on loan from Pop and she was amazing!

I like eating at Rose and Crown at lunchtime, eating outside on the back deck. Such an enjoyable experience!

WE are doing this for the first time this year. I am really looking forward to lunch there!
