We're gonna spend a Sunday afternoon on the Boardwalk in January and thought we'd eat at ESPN Club. IS there anything happening on a SZUnday afternoon at the ESPN Club? IS it particularly busy because of football games? If so, can you make a PS there? ANd last, but not least.... looking for some suggestions on what the good foods are there to eat. Any help would be appreciated.

Generally speaking the BW is pretty quiet during the day, if there is a NFL game on that could liven up ESPN. We enjoyed the night we ate there (also liked the one in Chicago but had a different menu). DD and I had Club Wraps which were very good, served with fresh fruit and fries (I think, or else we split an order  ) DH had a burger with toppings, he liked it and DS had a pb&j off kids menu. It is a fun spot.

The Redskins and the Cowboys played at 415pm and we thought for sure we would not be able to get in, but we walked right in. Everybody in my family got the "Slider burger" except me. I got the pulled BBQ sandwich and I wished I had gotten the burger. The BBQ sandwich was awful. We did get nachos for an appetizer and they were really good and the serving was plenty for 4 of us. By the way, I got a mixed drink that was really good. I think it was called the "9th Degree" or something like that.

I had a lunch steak there this January and it was great.

The wings are a favorite with my boys, dh likes the steak sandwich, this time I tried the reuben, and thought it was okay, but nothing to write home about (a little bland).

As far as how busy - it may depend if it is a day with a "guest" speaker and how important the games are (it would be playoffs most likely). We were there one night when there was a guest speaker and the place was packed, but when we have gone other times, it was walk right in. You can not make PS's for ESPN.

How do you find out if there is a guest speaker? That's COOL! My DH and Uncle would love that!

We were there on a Sunday in October, and it was packed! It's hard to say with the playoffs though. Some people will be more likely to go, other people may figure that if their team is not in the playoffs they'll skip the games altogether and go to the parks. I've never tried to go on a Sunday in January. I would say go by and check it out, but have a backup plan for eating if you won't be able to get in. They do not take PS.

We had the nachos in October and they were pretty good. I don't remember what DH had, but I had the portabello sandwhich, and it was good for sports bar food.

Just call the restaurant ahead of time. I called on Monday to ask for the whole week, and they read the list off to me. It varied from baseball players to sports announcers last week. I think it is possible that there are last minute changes too, so you may want to call more than once if you are in the area for more than a few days.

In March we saw Rod Woodson by luck - we had planned to go to ESPN on a Saturday and when we walked up, we saw his name on the marquee! It was a wonderful surprise for my sports nuts!

On Sunday Dec 7th my DH went at 11:15 to secure a table. There were people in line at 2:00 waiting to get in for the 4:00 games, but not sure how many got in. I like the pork BBQ sandwich.

The portobello sandwich is delicious, as are the wings. As far as drinks go, try the Kickoff. Vodka, Peach Schnapps, and pink lemonade.

Pork Barbecue Sandwich is a must for myself. The wife likes the Tuna sandwich. We go to the ESPN Club whenever we are in the area even if we are not going to Disney.

Another vote for the club wraps they are delicious. We've had the nachos as well and they are very good. Have a great trip. :)

Don't forget dessert. I cannot remember what it is called but it is a big silver cut out football filled with peanutbutter brownies, several scoops of ice cream, fresh fruit and caramel. There were 4 of us splitting it and we still didn't eat it all.

We stayed at Boardwalk 2 weeks ago. We ate at ESPN while waiting for our room to be ready on Saturday, Dec 6, around 1:30pm. We only had about a 5 min wait for a table but most tables were filled (college football). We noticed on Sunday when walking from Epcot back to the hotel around 3:00 or 4:00 that there was a long line to get in. I had a chicken sandwich. The chicken was very good but the bun it was served on got soggy.

I had these Chicken Zinger things (like the love child of buffalo wings and chicken tenders). I still DREAM about them they were that good. I think we had them medium which was plenty spicy. I had ordered a sandwich too and that was just way too much food so just an appetizer would have been plenty for me.
