Favorite DVC membership perk

The end of each trip is lacking that "oh when will I come back" regret that I may have had in the past when going to something like WDW or even a trip to DLR. Now, I know there is a very good chance this is not the last trip.....

We did the AP and make two long trips to WDW "trick" this cycle. The value is solid.

The lounge at Disneyland was been my happy place for a few trips now. I'll walk past that crazy line at Starbucks on main street and go into there and grab a coffee many times on most trips.

I didn’t even realize the purple light was a DVC thing. I just thought it was a glitch because we had issues with Magicbands working on our trip last month. I’ll pay more attention in April when we go back. Then when we go back again in July.

I heard that was the best lounge!

As a Florida Resident with access to resident passes, I never appreciated the "privilege" of the Sorcerer Pass and felt it's been overpriced for many years. I guess it's a very different perspective when you can't buy it unless you own DVC - then it's "savings"!

We do have them now, but I'm old enough to remember when (the equivalent pass) was ~$400/person in 2011 and now that it's ~$1100 14 years later (7.5% annualized "pass inflation") boggles my mind. I believe those 2011 passes were actually accessible to all, but FL residents got a discount.

We do enjoy the MM events and lounges in the park, but those alone are not a reason to buy direct, IMO.
Don't forget, in late 2012, DVC offered members the Premium Annual Pass (equivalent to the "Incredipass" today, except it was better because it included access to DisneyQuest/Golf, etc.) for $399

I mean Snickers bars were a quarter when I was a kid. I remember, because my weekly "candy day" budget was a quarter, and I could spend it all on a Snickers bar, or spread it around on a number of less expensive things.

If I bought the Snickers bar, I sliced off thin bits and them over time, a la Charlie Bucket. That makes for a nice story, but has nothing to do with the price of a Snickers bar today.

Did your Snickers bar go from 25 cents to a dollar in ten year's time?

Who cares? It costs what it costs. I can buy it, or I can buy something else. Like a nice apple.

And if people are still buying Snickers bars, then apparently the Mars company has not priced it too aggressively.

Favorite Perk: Maybe the 20% shopping discount. It absolutely drives us to spend more than we would have otherwise but when you've got 4 people into pin collecting it sure is nice.

AP Cost Increases: It is wild to see how much they've gone up in the last 10-15 years but they're still a value relative to ticket prices for many people. Is there a thread debating why ticket prices have gone up so much?

You should start one!

Since we are resale and don't get any of the real perks....the part I put in bold is a biggie for me. I don't feel pressure to get everything in and go on every ride because I know it won't be that long before we return. It just makes the whole trip more relaxed and fun.

I love the ability to purchase the Sorcerer pass, it's a big discount over the Incredipass and I have no desire to be at WDW during the few blackout dates anyway.

Love the lounges. We are DL locals so use the Star View Station most often. I haven't used this perk yet, but like that they used the terrace at DCA to offer DVC members a parade viewing spot during Lunar New Year. I'm hoping they repeat that this summer.

We were in WDW two weeks ago and really appreciated the MK and Epcot lounges given the unseasonably warm temperatures.
