Hi everyone! First time poster here but have been lurking for a while soaking up all the great information found here.

We are heading to DL on the 22nd - 27th of this month. It was a spur of the moment plan. My question is: If you could only eat at one place at DL , DCA or DD what would it be?

Wine Country Trattoria at DCA. Good food, very nice ambiance, and I find it makes for a relaxing break during a busy day.

Somewhere there was a thread people NEVER wanted to eat at again...find that! ;)

We're trying a few new places this time so I may have a new favorite...& I hate to sound cliche but so far Blue Bayou. I have a feeling Wine Country probably has better prepared food, etc.....but loving the feeling I have in BB makes it worth it for me. SH55 & Napa Rose are on our agenda this time...

Without a doubt, Blue Bayou. It's the only restaurant actually in a ride at the parks -- it's inside POC. It's pricey, but for a splurge, well worth it. Make reservations as soon as you can.

I like BB for the atmosphere, love Steakhouse 55 for the steaks and Napa Rose for the swankiness. All in that order.

Cafe Orleans (Monte Cristo and Pommes Frites) or Carnation Cafe (Loaded Baked Potato soup).

For a nice dinner Blue Bayou and for a cheap quick meal Hungry Bear Restaurant for a good burger and some fries :)

Ha, that does sound like a thread I may want to check out. I will poke around and see if I can find it.

Thanks everyone for your replies so far! Also, I meant eating establishments in general on the Disney property, not just sit downs in the park. :)

I don't really have a suggestion but just had to hijack your thread for a minute because your screen name sounds VERY familiar to me and I can't place it. Oh! Are you a ChaCha guide?!

If I could only eat at one place in Disneyland.... Hmm...

If I always had access to it: Club 33... The Lunch Buffet is awesome!
If I didn't have to pay for it: Blue Bayou
If I did have to pay for every meal: Hungry Bear
If I was able to pick anyplace in DLR and not pay: Steakhouse 55
If I was able to pick anyplace in DLR and had to pay: Whitewater Snacks

:thumbsup2

Haha! I am a ChaCha Guide. :)

The atmosphere of BB is very cool, but the food was bleah. But we're vegetarian and only have one choice there, and the choice isn't all that spectacular! DH liked it, though, much more than I did.

The one place I'm thinking of right now is pretty simple...and specific...the penne with marinara and a side salad with ranch is deelish at Plaza Inn at DL. :) Also, it's filling, so DH and I share it.

Had a terrific Filet Mignon and lobster tail there last Sept, with accompanying salad, potatoes, and vegetable. Admittedly not vegetarian fare, but for a carnivore, it was very good indeed. And the $40 price (less 10% AP discount) wasn't at all bad for that kind of combination.

YMMV.

No question, Napa Rose. Top 3 or 4 meals ever in my life.

BB is very cool and would go back just for the atmosphere with someone who was never there , but like asid above, the food was meh.....
