Well, we're off on Sunday, and are staying til Thursday (at SL), so it looks like we'll need to eat in the Village in the evenings - if we don't go to one of the hotels. Cafe Mickey is already a must, and we have tickets for BBWWS one nght. I also liked Annette's last time, but thought we'd try one of the other places. Our group consists of two adults, and two children aged 4 and 6.

So what's your favorite Disney Village restaurant?

Annette and CM apart we have only eaten at King Ludwig's and it was good even though a little pricey as everywhere in the park i can tell.

According to my 2008 trip report:

*We chose the 17.99 euros menu, the choice was not very big (a starter and a main course or a main course and a dessert) but anyway enjoyable.*

we really like the rainforest. we have never had a bad meal there and my dd loves all the moving animals.

We had an awful meal in Rainforest Cafe in 2007 - Denise's meal wasn't cooked properly and was stone cold. My salad had so much dressing it was practically floating. We'd never eat there again, though the theming is nice. Also found Planet Hollywood to be awful, for both food and service. Plus you get crammed in like sardines - not a pleasant experience.

King Ludwig's has always been nice, though the menu isn't that extensive.

I have to say, I didn't enjoy Rainforest Cafe at all when we went for my birthday meal in October 08. The theming was great though. For the amount we paid, we could've gone elsewhere and had a better meal, & possibly cheaper. Just my opinion, obviously, although I doubt I would try it again, just in case. I've booked The Steakhouse brunch for our next trip. The majority of reviews on the restaurant thread, have been really good.

In the Village, apart from Annettes and Cafe Mickey almost every trip, I've only been to Billy Bobs buffet and Rainforest Cafe - and I would do both again (we are considering Rainforest Cafe for next week).

I hate Planet Hollywood. Probably the worst restaurant in the resort. I've been to a few elsewhere and always enjoyed it but the one at Disney is poor. The tables are far too close together and both times I've been the food has been so poor that I've sent it back.

Rainforest cafe can be excellent but it seems very hit and miss. Sometimes the food is awful and when you're paying that much you expect it to be good. We do normally end up eating in there because we love the decor. I've probably eaten there 8 times and had 2 bad experiences.

For me it would be a toss up between the dependable steakhouse and Rainforest Cafe.

Do you not fancy an evening meal in the park? Walts should always be high up on the list of restaurant choices.

Does anyone know if the Chicago Steakhouse menu is posted up anywhere? Its not a restaurant I've ever considered before, but as its one which can be booked in advance, it might be worth a try.

Edited - found the adult menu on magicalkingdoms, but couldn't find the kids menu choices?

Thanks for the replies, so far. I've been to the Rainforest Cafe in London twice this year, so I'm hoping to stay away from this one - unless you think it's better than the one in London. I found the food in London to be hit and miss, and the restaurant looked really worn.

I have to admit I'm leaning towards King Ludwig's, but am not completely sure, as I've read some negative reviews lately.

I haven't eaten there but I agree that the one in London looks a bit shabby.

If you fancy King Ludwig's, just go for it! If you listened to every negative review, you wouldn't eat anywhere. :rotfl:

We have been back 2 weeks from our trip to DLP and we found King Ludwigs terrible. All the other restaurants were getting busy but they seemed empty. Our food was horrible, kids potions looked liked a supermarket value range and our food was cold. For a restaurant that was only serving 3 tables at the time we were there, you would have thought that they could have served the food hot!! We ate at the Rainforest Cafe twice and when we go again next year, we will be eating at RFC and CM and now I have read some reviews proberly the Steakhouse too

It's a few years since we ate at either the Rainforest or King Ludwig's but although we always found the service not up to much at either we were always happy with the food.

I agree ::yes:: can you believe that one of our nicest DLRP meals ever was actually at Planet Hollywood? :rotfl2:

After Cafe Mickey and Annettes,we like the Rainforest Cafe and Steakhouse ( only had the brunch though)

Thanks, everybody! We haven't decided where to eat yet, but I'll let you know in my trip report.
