Favorite dishes at Jiko and Boathouse??

My husband and I will be trying both restaurants for the first time on our upcoming trip (so excited! Jiko has been on my list for a long time!), so would love to hear people's favorite things to eat there!

We ate at the Boathouse twice in December. Our favourites meat dishes were the fillet sliders and steak sandwich, although the sauce on the latter is VERY spicy. We enjoyed the coconut shrimp and one of the dock side buckets which had a white fish panko-fried and served with dips and fries. We were too full for dessert but it's definitely on our must do list this December. The setting is wonderful, we sat outside overlooking the water on a warm, December night, which I think definitely made it a meal to remember for us.

My son really liked the wild boar appetizer at Jiko.

I can't remember what steak he got for his main, but he thought it was too heavily spiced; he felt the spice overwhelmed the flavor of the beef.

We had a terrific meal at Jiko in December. Big thumbs up for the short ribs, scallops, and curried squash soup. We even polished off the entire bread platter.

I'll second the scallops and short ribs at Jiko. Also the wild boar app was amazing. My wife's informed me she won't be sharing the app next time.

By far Jiko is my favorite restaurant on property. I'll be returning in 3 weeks.

The Boathouse steak was fantastic as was their mac and cheese. And the signature dessert was to die for

Agreed. I've eaten at all the signature restaurants and Jiko this past October was one of the top 5 meals I've had at WDW over 15 trips. I was surprised by how good it was. We would have licked our plate if people wouldn't stare!

This might sound odd, but the last time we ate at Jiko (maybe 2 years ago) the Jiko salad blew my mind. It was easily the best salad I've ever had. Honestly.

DD14 loves the short ribs. I like any fish they prepare.
