Have 5-night cruise Bahamian cruise on the Magic coming up in April. If you had the option, which two restaurants would you do twice, and which would you do once? I believe the options are Animator’s Palate, Lumiere’s, and the new Rapunzel dining room. I have two girls, 4yo and 1yo. I’m guessing my older daughter will want to do the Rapunzel one twice, so I was going to see if I could request that!

Also, are certain nights better than others for each dining room? We have Key West on day 2, Nassau on day 3, Castaway Cay on day 4, and day at sea with pirate party on day 5.

I personally would request Lumiere's once. And do Palo that night anyway. I cannot stand that menu.

Assuming that Rapunzel's is done as well as Tiana's, I would choose that one.

I think Lumiere's is pretty but boring. The third night in AP isn't a big deal.

I agree with the PP, if Rapunzel's is as good as Tiana's I would be fine with 2 night there.

Hi - I'm under the impression you don't get to choose your dining rotation. When we arrive, we will be given the rotation order and our restaurants are assigned to us each night. All of this won't be decided until we get KTTW card. And the restaurant you are given to eat at twice, that will be the pirate night with a special menu that night. Is there another way to choose restaurants that I'm not aware of?

Some like to request a certain dining rotation.

What days? We are on the Magic in May with the same itinerary. April 20 - 25.

But can you do that? And if so how do you do it? First time cruiser and I have only heard of the getting the rotation at check in.

There are no guarantees with the requests, but you can call (or have your TA call) and request to start in a certain dining room, or to be in a certain dining room for Pirate Night, or on a 5-night to have a certain MDR only once. Best to only have ONE request for the MDR though - as in server OR assistant server OR private table OR a certain rotation.

But again, no guarantees that it will/can be granted.

I heard that all the restaurants have the same menu on pirate night, and it doesn't seem to be people's favorite - is that correct?

Since we have 5 nights, I'm thinking we will have 2 nights at one, 2 nights at another, and 1 night at a third? So I would probably want to try and do Rapunzel 2 nights, Animator's Palate 2x (maybe have the second night on pirate night), and then Lumiere's as a single night? Does the AP show happen both nights?

We are sailing concierge and shoreside mentioned to me what the rotations would be and we have put in a request. No big deal if we do not get it.

what did you request and why? we are sailing concierge as well

Anyone can call ahead of time and request a dining rotation. We are sailing on the Magic at the end of the month. We stop at Castaway on day two (Pirate Night) day 4 is Key West. Our rotation is 1,1,2,3
I requested RRLA

So I would have to go back and do some digging. We are sailing on the fantasy at the end of april. We have palo reservations the third night. I do not want to miss Crush night in Animator's if possible so I requested either of the rotations that did not have us in Animators on the 3rd night.

In that case, I would request "Animator's the first or second night". It is far more confusing for them if you have negative requests "Not Animator's on the third night" 0 it's the same thing as the first phrasing, but the one using "not" can easily confuse the assigner who is doing a lot in a short period and may well miss the "not" and wham! you find yourself in Animator's on the third night.

I was given the actual rotations so my request was for two of the options over the one.

Those of us who cruise "commoner" status don't get told the rotations, so we have to phrase things differently.

When we cruised Wonder for the first time after the Parrot Cay/Tiana's transition I called to work the Palo/Tiana's deconfliction. We were given a few options and given a rotation that got us 2 nights in Tiana's (yay!); but the rotations were preset and we picked. Same for Magic when I tried to maximize our Carioca's time (grumble...good food...really liked Carioca's), we were given a few rotation options that we picked.

Anyway, OP since no one's been in Rapunzel's, (but the description is a lot like Tiana's), I think that our kids when they were the age of yours would've enjoyed AP more. Tiana's is loud and fun, but the kids weren't really into it and that was when they were 12/10/10.
