I'm going with a good girlfriend from college! She's from Manhattan, so very spoiled with food choices so probably looking for something a little different or something you can only experience at Disney, great food options that I can start planning for for our trip. I have 2 sons (baby, toddler) I usually travel with so trying some picks that might not be great when I'm on a family trip. I know there's some fun bars and lounges with food options as well!

Not sure which hotel we are staying at, likely Beach Club or Poly/GF. Not renting a car.
Anyone been to La Cava Tequila or Tutto Gusto Wine bar?

We did California Grill our last trip and it was great. We had dinner around 8 and walked out to watch the fireworks from MK. As the pp said Sanaa was also on of our favorites.

In terms of lounges and bars, I would consider Trader Sam's at Poly (super fun), Nomad Lounge at AK (great beverages and big apps) and, if you stay at BC, consider the lounge at bluezoo or even go there for dinner.

If you stay at BC and like sushi, go to Kimono's (best sushi at WDW, IMHO). For dinner, consider Cali Grill (good food, amazing view), Artist Point at WL and Jiko at AKL.

Go to Morimoto!!! Great food, great cocktails and it is really one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever eaten at.

She's from Manhattan, Disney isn't going to have anything exotic or different compared to a big city dining scene, so don't worry about that!

If you go, get the tuna pizza appetizer ( pic from wdwmagic - I had as my entree) - soooo good.

My brother had the Buri-Bop (no pic) and LOVED it.

And if they still have this cocktail, get it! I was worried it would be too sweet, but it definitely wasn't! (my picture, doesn't look as nice :) )

Morimoto and go upstairs and sit at sushi bar. Be prepared to spend a lot of money but just tell chef to make whatever he feels like. Will run about 150/person but I did it once on business and had awesome food.
Other great spots would be BlueZoo, Sanaa lounge is great for bread service and a drink. Artist Point is great and territory lounge is an awesome spot for a drink.

We haven't been in years and DH is a foodie. We are doing:

  • California Grill Sunday brunch
  • Il Mulino
  • Jiko
  • Raglan Road
  • Yachtmans Steakhouse

We have been to California Grill but for dinner and we have been to Raglan Road which we loved.

Morimoto is at the top of my list! That tuna pizza looks amazing!!!

Yachtsman at Yacht Club is a fantastic steak house. Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' in Disney Springs has great cocktails and southern-style food (hard to find in NYC). The Yak and Yeti in AK was delicious, but I'm not sure how a New Yorker would judge it, with access to such authentic asian options back home. You can always drink around the world in Epcot :D

Like many others have said Trader Sams inside lounge for after dinner Drinks, if you are looking for a good steak I recommend the Wagyu steaks you can get at the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk, hands down one of the best steaks I have had at Disney as of 3/10/18, for Dinner with a great view and show, its never bad to Eat At Narcoossees, you get the right Dinner reservation you get both the Fireworks at MK as well as a great view of the Water Parade. For Disney Springs lunch/seafood I recommend, the Boathouse, for whatever reason It seems like you get the best service and food at Lunch and you can eat right on the water there. If you want more of a foodie, dinning experience then Monsieur Pauls above Chefs De France in Epcot is a defiantly a place for higher quality French Cuisine. If you want to try African cuisine then Sanna at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Of course if you want to try the star of all Disney Restaurants, Victoria and Alberts at the Grand Floridian is the best choice as it is the only 5 Diamond awarded restaurant on Property but you will of course pay well for this experience.

As a Bonus tip, if you do spend sometime at Disney Springs one of my favorite bars is the Hanger Bar but I have also like the Bar that is attached to the Edison

As a former New Yorker myself, I do not hold the Yak and Yeti up to the asian flavors from NYC China Town but I do love their Coconut Seafood Curry, so much so that its one of those must stop meals when I am in AK , I even make it time to time at home now.

Oh oh and definitely try the Edison and then report back with pictures! It wasn't open when we were last there but man it looks like fun

My adult favs have been Cali Grill with fireworks and Jiko, both really memorable. Tried Il Mulino but it was soooo loud and we had a terrible table. We basically ate in silence because it was so loud and we were so far apart across our table we couldn't hear each other! We couldn't even sit next to each other because it was in a walkway on one side and next to a pole on the other :headache:. Another more common place that we had a nice adult only meal at was Les Chefs in France and also outside at Rose and Crown.

We are always adults only and these are some of our favorites:

Lounges: Trader Sam's, AbracadaBar, Nomad Lounge, La Cava de Tequila (great for an afternoon break for a beverage and a small snack!)
Restaurants: Sanaa, Flying Fish, Morimoto Asia, Hollywood Brown Derby, Tiffins, Citiricos

We haven't been able to try The Edison or Enzo's Hideaway yet, but they are definitely on the list for the next trip.

If you want fine dining:
  • California Grill
  • Jiko
If you want casual dining:
  • Homecomin'
  • Tangerine Cafe
  • Via Napoli
  • Sanaa
  • Boma
  • Raglan Road

These are places on my adult trip bucket list as well as places I've already eaten at that are adult friendly:

Jiko's
Sanaa (on my list; not on the man's-he doesn't like Indian food, poor dear)
Nomad Lounge (liquid diet)
Trader Sam's (liquid diet)
Via Napoli (Neapolitan pies only plus some really nice apps. As well the Brutti sundae is yummy but not too heavy)
Boathouse
Yachtman
Morimoto Asia and Street Food
Tokyo Dining
Brown Derby (corn crab chowder is to die for)
Ponte Pizza (credible Sicilian slices @ DS when you are on the go)
M. Paul
Flying Fish
Restaurant Marrakesh
V&A (one must dream;))
California Grill
