I have two favorites. The first is a nativity set my parents brought back from a trip to Mexico about 25 years ago. Its very simple, but also colorful and the faces of the figures are so sweet and happy. I just love to look at it!
The second is my secret favorite. Its sappy and corny and most people would probably throw it in the trash. (At least one or two of my sisters would have, for sure.) Anyway, its this really goofy, plastic elf face. Its made to hang on the wall or something (we used to put in on an inside doorknob). Theres a string to pull at the bottom and it plays Silent Night. I dont know why, but I have always loved that thing. I LOVE it so much that, years ago, I secretly hid it in a very, very safe place--safe from my non-sentimental sisters. For some odd reason, that silly elf just means Christmas to me. (BTW, after I post this, Im going to find him, pull the string to hear Silent Night, and probably shed a tear or two of joy.)
