Favorite Crew Member?

OK. Here some info I got in talking to various members of the crew. Seans last week for Bingo was last week because the regular Bingo person was coming back from leave(I guess thats Robin). Ian is in his first contract, and has been there only a few months coming from a differant cruise line. Sean is in charge of scheduleing the cruise staff. John is thinking about signing one more contract then moving on. The whole cruise staff is amazing. They work there butts off for 14 hours a day and make it seem like they love every minute of it. I'm sure it is fun doing what they do, but just remember this is there job. They get up early and go to bed late and have done these activities every week for up to 6 months straight. It can't be as fun for them as they make it seem. They don't get near enough credit. They ARE what make the cruise so fun. So my vote go's to the whole cruise staff. That would be Sean, John, April, Ian, Ellen, Mirishnee, Louigi, etc...). By the way DJ LA had his last cruise last week.

The best CM's on the Magic were in my dining rotation, starting with:
Christophe, Maclean, Ancell and Liviu

All were extremely hard-working, pleasant, friendly and good-natured. We wouldn't expect anything less, but these guys really went overboard (sic).
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I am glad to hear Robin has not left permanently but was just away on vacation. I am sorry to hear that DJ LA left. He was alot of fun, especially during Karaoke.

The Cruise Staff certainly does deserve more credit than they are given. They work tirelessly to make sure the guests are enjoying themselves. I can't imagine how they keep their enthusiasm up week after week without getting totally burned out. They are a special breed!!!!

GOOD JOB GUYS AND GALS OF THE CRUISE STAFF!!!

Thanks so much for the info. I am very interested in how these guys do this job. It must be a blast (and yet tiresome at times) I want to know if people can fill in for CMs for a short time and work the ship? Doesn't that sound like a great idea???????

Everyone on this board is really great! Keep those insights coming!!!

I just got home from the 9/14 Magic sailing and was told that Zita from Palo left DCL to get married. Congratulations Zita!

Hey, any other favorites on the ship? The Magic of Disney is ALWAYS the CMs. Every trip we have had has included some exceptional memories from CMs. Thanks to all who have gone beyond the call of duty and made our vacations special.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Vlado from Croatia (glad to hear he is still on the Magic) and Mark from England. There were 18 of us at two tables, including 7 kids at one table (Yikes!), and they were so competent and fun. I really felt like we got to know them as friends.

Krunoslav from Croatia and Reinier from Holland were the best servers we ever had on any cruise!!!!

Were you on the 8/24 Magic cruise? I remember seeing a large party at 2 tables and saw a table of kids. I remember thinking, those servers must have strong hands if they would have to cut steak for 7 kids... hope you had a great time on whichever cruise you went on!

We just got back from Wonder Cruise:

ALEX is a wonderful Stateroom Host deck 7 outside

MICHELLE is a great server; any dining wish I had was fulfilled including a glass of 20 yr old Port from Palo's

CHRISTINE at Palo's...just fantastic

We met so many gracious CMs.
Our first cruise ever was indeed WONDERful. Thanks to all who made it so very special.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :jester: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hey, come on....anybody else!!!! Thanks to all for participating!!Let's get some enthusiasm for the Mediterrean cruise!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Just got back today from the 9/28 Mystery Cruise and I believe that Ian and Robin get this cruisers vote hands down. They busted their butts and we all had a wonderful time because of them.

Anyone at the '70's night party?!? With Ian, Robin and Tom from NJ, I almost wet myself I laughed so hard.

:D

Without a doubt.....Tom from Croatia and Jan from Canada. Both outstanding! Unforunately the 9/28 was his last cruise as he's returning home to Croatia to be with his wife and baby to be. Four years on the Magic ended yesterday. :( His magic tricks were a highlight of our children's cruise.

We'll definitely request Jan on our next cruise as my son is her future husband. :)

MnParrothead - I used to work with Mark at the Rose & Crown (UK Pavillion) at Epcot it's great to hear he's still creating the that "Disney Magic" onboard the Disney Magic can't wait to see him myself when I go crusing on the Oct 19th!

Ok, what about some of my favorites....Ellen, John and Sean....are they still sailing on the Magic?:jester:

Glad to hear Robin is back. I think this is John's last week on the Magic for awhile.

I think we were so lucky on our cruise to have the best of the best....our server was David from England and Marika was his asst at that time...he was not only a great server, but also very intelligent and I enjoyed a few great conversations about history with him...our head server was Sandra from France and she was excellent as well!

I'm not sure if she's still on the ship, but Kerrie from Shopping in Paradise was also a great CM...very informative and a pleasant Aussie to boot! Same goes for Natalie...more energy than anyone I've ever seen lol

Zita from Palos will be missed!!! She was too good for words.

Vivian in the Lab was hands down the coolest cm for my dd9 (Courtney from So. California in case she reads these - fat chance).

Petros (spelling???) Guest Services - nicest guy alive.

Robin - funniest man to make you feel good about losing lots of $$$ at bingo.

Dining room - no recommendations - we haven't had the best luck in that department.

Stateroom - don't remember their names  - kind of says a lot right there I suppose.

Lorenzo from Italy and Gordon from Scotland were top notch for our June 2002 cruise!
