Favorite comfortable, supportive sandals for all that walking?

I am struggling right now with shoes for our July trip. Last July (and all last summer) I wore the Orthaheel flip flops referenced earlier, but on our March trip I couldn't even take a step in them after an hour or so. And since then I just cannot wear them. My feet hurt soooo badly in them. I have PF and tendonitis and need something supportive that does not allow my feet to overpronate (roll in). I have tried the Oofos recently and they had no support. Nice soft foot bed, but my feet rolled horribly. I can wear Keens sometimes, but my PF is really bad at the end of the day. Sanuks offer NO arch support, but are nice and soft. I bought a pair last summer and switch into them in the hotel room. I have had luck with crocs in the distant past, so might try them again.

This is a two part issue that I think would benifit from a shoe change plan. Shoes that keep your feet from rolling in are usually hard-that is how they keep your feet from rolling. But PF feels horrible if you walk on a hard surface for too long. Hence the costume change plan. When my feet were at their worst I had to switch between my crocs Capris and my tennis shoes with inserts. I changed shoes a few times during the day-but the key was to change every so often but BEFORE they started to hurt. I also rolled my feet on a frozen water bottle that I kept in the hotel mini fridge at night when I took my mid day break in the hotel.

My feet also wanna roll in and my shoes wear away really funny and look like they are an inside to outside inclined plane after a couple months of wearing them. This may have also happened with your orthoheels-they wear down much more quickly since they are so cushy which is why they don't work for me. I can't keep replacing a more expensive shoe on my measly teacher/single-mom-with-no-child-support budget. That is why I buy the crocs Capris-they are cheaper to replace every couple of months and still good and comfy and supportive.

I just went online to repurchase my fav flip flops after all this shoe talk only to find out that crocs redesigned them which makes me nervous that they will not be as good any more. You can still get the Capri IV on Amazon but of course the same drip flops that were 20 last summer are now 40 since they are discontinued and "supply and demand" as Oakin would say. :sad2:.

I can't wear the sanuk yoga sandals...too flat! I love my birkenstocks (I have a classic mickey pair) or Teva Mush flip flops.... or certain Jambu mary jane style shoes_ I wear these in cooler weather - I have keens (they're ok) and a pair of Nike air sneakers (pretty good) but I find flat with high arch support is the only type of shoe I can wear. Birkenstocks are the best. (I loved crocs,b/c they mold to the shape of your foot, but my last trip to DL was when I discovered I couldn't use them in the rain...absolutely no traction it was like skating!)
I've heard Birkenstock are really great but I tried them on and they are hard as a rock! Are they really that comfortable to wear all day??

Teva or Skechers outdoor styles. I've worn both. The Skechers are actually a bit more comfortable, but I like the looks of the Teva more and the fact that they have a strap on the back to help hold the shoe on.

More people really need to try Oofos. They tend to only circulate more in the running world because of the recovery benefits after running races. They are amazing. Truly.

I think I will try to change multiple times during the day on this trip! Good suggestion. I did halfway through last time, but was so miserable by the time I switched that it didn't really help. I am working really hard at home right now also to get the PF in a better place before we go. That would help so much!

I have never tried Birks, but do know they work well for a lot of people. My 14yo has some and loves them.

Birks hurt my feet alot. I have bad PF and flat feet. It aggravates them so much and I get blisters everytime Iwear them and Ive had them for a year. My daughter loves them too but she doesnt have my foot issues.

I recently bought some sketchers with memory foam in them and added some Dr. Scholl arches from Target. It has been wonderful for my feet

I have very wide feet, high instep, so need good arch support without crushing the top of my foot. Merrill's thong sandals keep me happy.

I have planar fasciitis and wear orthopedic inserts in my running shoes. I wear Bikenstocks for my sandals.

My MIL had a Tommy Bahama gift card given to her and she used it to purchase the shoes I will link to below. I never thought I would ever spend $100 on a pair of flip flops, but I've worn these through and through over the past 2 years and they need to be replaced. I wore them when walking about 3-4 miles while in my last trimester of pregnancy, and then they were my go-to shoe if it wasn't raining. When i wore them in Disneyland (at that point they were about 7 months broken in) I was amazed because it was the FIRST time ever I didn't have sore legs after ALL day in the parks......plus out hotel was a mile away and we walked to & from each day of our 5 day trip! They are amazing! That said I recently bought a different pair of TB relaxology flip flops that are more of a canvas material vs the leather (to try and save $$) and they are NOT nearly as comfortable as the specific ones below.
