ok. So I like cocktails but the ones on the main WDW cocktail menu last year were kind of over-sweet for me. What cocktails do you recommend-- from the menu or specialty at specific restaurants?

The smoked turkey that is avalaible at most of the Deluxe lounges is very god. As is the hightower rocks at Nomad/Tiffins.

Oooh! What's the base of the smoked turkey? And what's in the Hightower rocks?

I thought the Polynesian Pearl was delicious. "RumChata Cream Liqueur, Grand Marnier, and Cinnamon with Tropical Juices"

And while I haven't had one at Trader Sam's at WDW, the Hippopotamaitai at Disneyland was very very good the first time, and good the second time. (the obvious difference was that the first time it was in the souvenir glass b/c I told them I would buy it, and the second time I wasn't going to buy it and they brought it to me in a normal glass)

If you like cocktails make sure to try the signature restaurant lounges, or well lounges at the deluxe resorts. In particular the Bluezoo will have some great ones, last time I was there I had a "bee's knees" which was gin based with citrus and honey and an orange-honey foam. Their zooberry is also interesting to try consisting of a blueberry infused vodka with rock candy (a bit sweet, but not the same syrupy sweetness of the standard disney ones).

If you enjoy rum drinks at all definitely give Trader Sam's a try.

We've also had some notable cocktails at Mizner's lounge at The Grand Floridian, but I don't recall them right off.

I have a hippopotomaitai souvenir glass too! It was delicious.

I never thought of going to Bluezoo but that cocktail sounds delicious. We will be at BC so I think a short stop on our way home from DHS is definitely in order. Thanks!

I can't do super sweet drinks either. My favorite drinks on our last trip were:

Mizner's Cooler at the Grand Floridian and the Cucumber Margarita from La Cava. Very refreshing and did not hurt my stomach. If you're staying at BC, make sure you stop by Crews Cup for a mojito and truffle fries! Their whole menu looked really good :)

I like the dirty martini at Mizners, and any pina colata poolside...waiting to try Lapu Lapu at Poly:-)

Moscow mule at the Ale and compass was great. I went back for one every night of the vacation.[/

Moscow mules are so refreshing during the summer and I ❤️ Ale & Compass.

Cucumber margarita sure does sound refreshing! What's in Mizner's cooler?

St-Germain, Nolet’s Gin, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Soda Water, and Fresh Mint

I know some people aren't crazy about St. Germain, but I thought they used just the right amount of it in this cocktail. Very restrained :)

A traditional mojito at Bongos. Consistently good.

The African Starr mojito at Sanaa was very good too. Starr African Rum, Van der Hum Tangerine Liqueur from South Africa, fresh Mint, and Lime.

I love St. Germain. What is the name of that cocktail and where can I get it?

It's called a Mizner's Cooler and you can get it at Mizner's Lounge at the Grand Floridian!!! Worth the trip :)

I'm big into St. Germain too these days. I love this cocktail at one of my local restaurants called the Lady Sybil and it's Hendricks gin, St. Germain and champagne. STRONG as all get out, but delish!

Yup. I've been joneing for an almond crusted cheesecake from Narcoossee's for a while and we'll be there next week :).

Some of my favourites:

Grand Marnier Slushy at EPCOT
Hightower at Nomad at Animal
Ketel One Martini (DIRTY) Brown Derby Lounge at Studios
