Favorite Christmas Film

'Miracle on 34th Street' :thumbsup2

I can remember being amazed that my boyfriend, at the time, was willing to watch it with me as it was a bit 'soppy' :teeth:

Mine are:

Mickeys Christmas Carol
Muppets Christmas Carol
Its a Wonderful Life.

I always watch Mickeys Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve, but have it on video cassette, and no longer have a video in my house that works, so I think I will have to take it up to my Mum's this year!

Sara. :)

Die Hard ... Now I have a machine gun. Ho-Ho-Ho.

Guns. C4. Explosions. Bruce Willis being cooked in the air conditioning vent like a dirty-vested turkey, shooting terrorists, giving grief to the Police and saving the day. What more could you possibly want from a Christmas movie?

It has to be National lampoons Christmas vacation - I remember watching that after a particually hard christmas with some testing relatives and it was wonderful.
This year we will watch - Its a Wonderful Life and Trains Planes and Automobiles.

Has to be Miracle on 34th Street for me, although Love Actually did make me feel festive when it was on last week.

Last year, on the DIS boards, 'The Christmas Shoes', starring Rob Lowe, was a big hit for a lot of our US DISers :sunny:

By chance I noticed it was on one of the Cable Channels - my, what a 'tear jerker' :sad1: but a lovely Christmas film if any one can get to see it :sunny:

A Christmas Story
It's been a family tradition for over 20 years now.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
It's not a movie, but:
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Elf
Blackadder's Christmas Carol
Jesus of Nazareth
Olivia Hussey is perfect as Mary
DH loves the made for TV claymation oldies!

Neither DH or I can stand It's A Wonderful Life, although we adore all the actors. We feel soooo out of it! :teeth:

As a kid, I used to love the Kraft specials, does anyone remember those?
I recall the Little Drummer Boy & perhaps, one about the 3 wisemen?
Anyway, those programs really meant a lot to me, as a young kid.

Ebenezer Scrooge's grave is in New St. Chad's graveyard.

Last time I was in Shrewsbury was a long time ago at Gay Meadow, when Chelsea were in the old 2nd Division! Lovely town and a great evening in one of the pubs, the name of which is lost in the mists of time and alcohol!

National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
The Santa Clause (1,2 and now 3)
Miracle on 34th Street
Mickey's Christmas Carol

:santa:

My all time fave is Santa Clause the movie, but I like to watch most of the films that are on during this time of year

Aaah! The days when Shrewsbury had a football team. If it was the one Shrewsbury won 3-1, I was there as well.

Hi Richard,

I remember a 3-0 to you in about '79 or '80 I think, but maybe 3-1, my memory plays tricks now heehee!. Also a 2-0 to Chelsea mid 80's and a 1-1 in the '89 promotion season. Happy days home and away in those days even though we were sh.... er rubbish most seasons. Always enjoyed the night out in Shrewsbury after the game, the locals always made us feel welcome, especialy after that beating! I've tried to remember some of the Christmas Carol locations from the movie, I presume some of them were filmed in the town square?

Lol
