OK since Shannone has been doing some post I thought I'd try one on here since her's are so sucessful.

The subject of my poll is the movies shown at the campfire program. What is your favorite of the polled topics and why.

My personal favorites are the old Disney movies like Snowball Express and Apple Dumplin Gang. Just any of the old timer one's I like. Not that I dislike any of the new one's but I guess I like old school.

Shannone if you think I should change or add anything give me some ideas.

I pretty much enjoy any of the movies at the campfire but I do like the older ones probably a little better.

Although a child of the 80's and 90's (I was born in '76), I am an insane movie buff, loving film from all decades. I had to vote whatever movie is playing.

I think the FW crew is doing an excellent job of mixing some older classics with the 'newer' Disney/Touchstone/etc ... films.

If I had one gripe (major for me), it would be to throw TRON into the rotation! TRON was the grandfather of CGI flicks, and still an amazingly trippy flick that was way ahead of its' time.

Then again, I have a feeling the kids might not dig sitting through Disney flicks likes TRON and THE BLACK HOLE (but I'd be a happy camper :woohoo: )

What ever is playing works for us. If we dont like the movie we just go to fire and make smores. But we try to pick the movie we want to watch.

This board is a bit poll happy lately :lmao:

My favorite movie is Pete's Dragon. I like the non animated ones better than the fully animated ones.

My two favorites are Pete's Dragon and Apple Dumpling Gang. :goodvibes But, we'll watch anything that's there.

I don't think I've seen Pete's Dragon before. I'll have to check it out.

The first movie we ever saw at the fort was Homeward Bound. That one's a tearjerker.:sad1:

I voted for the 70's, when I was a kid, every Sunday night, we would be at my Grandma's for a giant dinner, 15+ people, roast beef, all the fixin's. This was EVERY Sunday night. We would all get done with dinner and rush into the living room to watch the wonderful world of Disney. So those movies just give me a warm fuzzy feeling just to see the titles. I can remember Walt's little speaches to start them off. It just made the world seem right. Don't you wish there were things like that today?

Now my wife and son, they are both too young :rolleyes1 to get the old movies, so I will probably sit through cars or toy story for the 1 billionth time :scared: . But hey, as long as Ms. Sundee is there all is well right?

I voted for whatever is playing! DH and I enjoy all the Disney movies old and new. Our youngest girls (3 and 2) are more fascinated with the newer Pixar movies. DD9 enjoys them all.

Hey Stack, I voted for 'seeing anything' although my favorites for the Fort CF SaL are the 70's movies. It's because we go to whichever movie is playing on our night we set aside for the campfire that we saw Snowball Express for the first time this past December. I'd never even heard of it and the family enjoyed it. My favorite for Fort Wilderness is Apple Dumpling Gang and I'm waiting for them to play the original Parent Trap to watch under the stars there. I've never seen it on the schedule on any of our trips to the Fort.

(I wanted to add that it's fun to watch movies we've seen before just to hear the reactions of people who are watching for the first time. We've seen Toy Story too many times to count but went to see it anyway and people were howling through it. I guess I thought everyone has seen all the Disney movies we've seen.)

"Mister Donovan, I gotta go".

We saw Snowball Express for the 1st time last June and were going to leave but I said give it a few more minutes and DD started to like it. It ended up being on her xmas wish list lol. Bridge to Teribitha was fun to watch there as well. I never knew Summer Magic existed until the "Burls Porch" thread came about. I don't think I've ever seen that one playing. Maybe we can request that one for the 4th of July Grand Gathering.

I chose whatever is playing. I can pretty much watch anything but may have to give the [princess diaries a second thought. I have to agree with brocktoon they should throw Tron into the rotation.

Yeah, the first part of S. Express is the bad side of 70's movies. We had to laugh at the computer, though. Have you seen Pollyana? It and Summer Magic remind me of Main Street. I was going to say too bad we can't make special requests but I think the Sundee connection some have could come in handy ;) .

I couldn't agree more! I get a warm fuzzy feeling as well when I think back to the days when Wonderful World of Disney was in primetime. Although I haven't been to a FW movie yet and I voted for "whatever is playing" I really miss the good old days. My husband did not grow up in Disney family and I find it hard to comprehend what that must have been like :confused3 .

The original Homeward Bound, I hope. I don't think they've ever released the original on VHS or DVD. Too bad, 'cause it's much better than the re-make.

My fave's for "Fort Viewing" are Snowball Express & Pete's Dragon. Love 'em both!!

How about Animal House?
