Favorite Cabin Loops

Loop 100..... Stayed in site 125....May 8-17, 2004, we loved this site. It was a great location, walking distance to the marina, trailsend buffett, and the buses. Loved it...very quiet. Will request this one again.

We have stayed in the 2600,2700,2800,and 2500 loops our favorite is 2500 because it is closest to the small pool. All the cabin loops are in great locations.

We were in the 2100 loop the last time. DD and I walked a few times to the Meadows. We were near the path to the 1100 loop which would be nice if bathroom space got cramped. We were fine with the 5 in our family.

All the loops are great. What I have found is that we really like having the 2nd or 3rd cabin in on the loop. Some people may like being deeper in the loop. We liked being closer to the main road because we had 2 in strollers and it was handy to get to the buses.

Did anyone staying in the cabins notice if there was there a lot of noise from the passing busses?

We were in a loop 2600 or 2700, and the main rd that runs thru the campground was right behind our cabin, we did not have any problems with the bus noise. I prefer 2500 loop, but for the last 4 times I have gone I have been unable to get it.

:sunny:

We were in the 2500 loop in January, second cabin in on the left hand side, and the noise from the buses did not bother us at all.

A lot of people always recommend loop 2500 but I have got to tell you that we requested it but were placed in Loop 2600 and we were very fortunate because I liked the atmosphere of that loop a lot better. Loop 2500 IS adjacent to the pool but there is very little tree cover or shading in the loop and it is small so the cabins in the center back right up onto one another. Most of the cabins on Loop 2500 are handicap accessible so that is the reason why requesting it is futile in a lot of instances.

Now Loop 2600 is a beautiful loop that is deeply in the forest providing wonderful buffering from neighboring cabins. It is directly across the street from the pool allowing easy access, and it is on the right side of the street for the bus stop on the way to Pioneer Hall. It is a big loop so you could be placed way in the back which would mean a significant hike to the beginning of the loop - but try and request not to be placed so far back.

2100 is also talked about as being a very good loop as its near the camping loops.

As for bus noise - the cabins are extremely well insulated and you can rarely hear people when they are passing by the cabins talking so bus noise is very minimal and I can't remember even hearing a single bus - we were fourth cabin in on Loop 2600.

Thanx everyone for the "noise" (or lack thereof) info. I'm really happy to hear that I won't be relaxing in our cabin while listening to busses pass by.

Castlegazer...I appreciate your thoughts on the various loops. ...if only we were going there sooner!

Thanks for the infor on cabin loops. We like a lot of shade while camping so I think I'll request the 2600 loop. :D

We stayed in the first cabin off loop 2300.

You could hear the busses at night and in the morning but it wasn't enough to wake me up.

What did wake me up at 5:15 to 5:30 every morning I believe was the CM golf cart (I think). I call it a golf cart but it seated around 12 people or so. It wasn't that loud but the first morning I couldn't figure out what the noise was. At first, I thought it may have been a mosquito sprayer driving around the loops(maybe it was??) but later I heard the CM golf cart and it sounded very similar.

2600 loop is just the best in our opinion. Close to the pool and laundry and bus stop---really great! Also very shady throughout the whole loop!
