Do you have a first night meal tradition?

We arrive at DLH at noon and don't have any plans other than pool time. I would love some fun tradition ideas!

Our first night always includes a stop at Trader Sam's for a drink or two and then off to dinner we go.

I think this year we are planning on Tortilla Jo's for first night dinner. We don't leave the park to eat on park days so arrival or departure days are really our only chance to eat in DTD.

Not so much for dinner but we generally get to the park just before lunch and because of the Billies, we always have lunch at the Golden Horseshoe. Now that they're gone, we still eat there but we dont try too hard to make the show.

We like to hit Rainforest Cafe when we come in. While not Disney, it's fun for the kids and the food ain't bad either.

We don't really have a 'tradition' but we're doing Goofy's kitchen this trip. We really like Goofy's kitchen and think it'll be a fun way to kick off the trip Disney style without needing a park ticket.

I've done Goofy's Kitchen for dinner on arrival night twice. I love that immediate immersion into Disney!

When we arrive late (after 8pm) we usually just want to get unpacked and relax. If we are staying onsite, I or one of the kids runs to the Tortilla Jo's taquira and get take out and enjoy in the room. Yum, steak nachos are so good!

I try to dine at one of the places in DTD. Catal is my current favorite. I'll also use that time to do my shopping at The Disney Store.

Jazz Kitchen or UVA Bar, depending on the mood. If it's been a long day, we might hit the NR lounge for relaxation vs. people watching.

We usually do to Haunted Mansion as our first ride and usually end up at the French Market right after. We don't love it, we're just in that area at that time since we always seem to arrive in the afternoon. Occasionally, we make the effort to walk back up to Carnation Cafe instead of French Market.

We always go to goofys kitchen the first night. This started because our first trip with the kids they were so excited to be at Disneyland and not go to the parks, so we started off wit h goofys so the kids could meet characters. It was a great way to kick off the trip and the kids ask to go every time:)

Whitewater snacks for the nachos!!!
Non disney- El Toritos ( we are obsessed with their tacos).
