Okay, this is going to sound silly (and maybe it's even in the wrong place?) but I have just read through both the "rants" and "mistakes" threads and I would love to hear about some Disney positive memories!

It doesn't have to be extra special but what makes it magical for you? What keeps you returning?

I think my favorite was walking through Cinderella's Castle, talking about Tigger and then who should pounce on me and fill my first autograph in my first Disney autograph book?

Tigger!

Okay, now that I've shared mine, I'd love to hear yours! The ears are on!
:cool2:

Sights...Seeing the castle, Sounds...music at Epcot, Smells...Confectionery on Main St::yes::

The feeling passing through the main gate. Seeing the castle the first time on the trip. Hearing the opening music/narration to the MK RD show. Riding Splash Mtn first time of the trip and hearing Zip A Dee Doo Da. Hearing screams from EE riders. Music in queuing area of TSM

I have 2 from my last trip with my mom...

1. Winnie covering my mothers mouth as she told them I was turning 30, while Tigger covers his ears

2. Getting extra time & pics with Mickey because of the custom shirts we had made for our last day

I have so many amazing memories, I feel like my list could go on and on...

Having my great niece say after she came out of BBB, " I didn't know I could be this beautiful"... yep not only tears while she was being transformed at BBB, but even more so once she made her comment...

When I got married at WDW. Then going to Epcot for dessert party....the bus took us all in one group. When we got there, the parade was just ending. We just walked in and followed behind the parade and became part of it.

My first time I was at Disney, when I was 4, Snow White was in a hurry and couldn't sign my autograph book, so instead she took it and kissed the page leaving a lipstick print of her lips!

Dancing in WDW on the Tomorrowland stage when I was 10!

Walking around World Showcase, I was about 15. Being my British self I asked a CM in the Canada pavilion where the toilet was.
He responded with banter about toilets and restrooms etc. He said he liked the way I said toilet, then he asked my name.
My name is often pronounced wrong by people in the US and Canada, well wrong by my standards. So we were chatting back and forth, me trying to teach him how to say my name right, and him getting his friends over to have a go at saying it right.
Was so funny, trying to teach about 3 CM how to pronouce Tara :)

When my dd was 2 she LOVED Donald Duck-held a stuffed one everyday as she rode in her stroller, walked, ate, slept... But was terrified of the characters in the park. We saw Donald and my older dd wanted his autograph. Donald saw the little sis holding his stuffed self and started toward her We quickly waved him off! He tip toed a wide circle around her while holding his finger in front of his mouth as if saying " shh" and stood behind her stroller allowing us to get a family picture with dd smiling, hugging stuffed Donald and the "real" Donald behind her. PRICELESS!

all of them!! my oldest son when he was 3? 4? very tired, but wanted to go through the big ball. we went through the line, he was excited, looking around etc... got loaded on and he fell asleep!! slept through the whole ride, woke up when we went outside. looked at us and asked if 'can go through the big ball now?'. needless to say we did it again, although he didn't sleep this time!! he's 17 now and we still give him a hard time about not going to sleep when we go to epcot!! my youngest son (14) going on RnRC last year for the first time. scared to death, but wanted to try it. we got seated, checked, rounded the corner waiting on countdown, he's almost to full scale panic attack. i keep reassuring him that we'll be off soon and if he doesn't like it he never has to ride again. we take off, he starts to freak even more!! 15 seconds later he's screaming 'THIS IS THE BEST RIDE EVER!!' seeing his face when he got off was awesome, smiles smiles smiles!! we had 2 extra fast passes that were available immediately so him and DH went right back on!!

This may sound really dumb but I love the atmosphere, the sounds, the air, the everything. Ilove the sound of people chatting, the sound of kids laughing, people laughing/screaming on the rides. just the whole fact that being surrounded by happy people makes me happy. I have so many good memories of WDW and so many I don't remember. My dad still goes on about the first time me and my sisters mouths dropped when we went the first time and saw the castle. I'll say to people I love the air an they'll think I am crazy(maybe I am??) lol but when I say to my sister she totally gets what I mean. I actually read somewhere that WDW does pump in pleasant smells so I am not as crazy as I thought. I find it hard to explain. My favourite memory was the first boat ride across to MK and the first time seeing the electro tic parade at night. Also when I was younger getting picked to be in the day parade was so good and fun as a kid. I know they don't do it anymore but once from Epcot I got the chance to ride with the driver and that still live on in me. I also love love the music in most places of the parks and it gets me. This may sound really stupid but one of my absolute fav memories was just sitting on a porch on Main Street at night time when the park it was just clearng out and most people were gone and just sitting with my mum dad and sister and just watching people leave and then looking up at the castle and somehow managing when looking back in my direction away from the light and straight up seeing one star and just thinking to myself how lucky I was to be here. I know it sounds a bit soppy and stupid but that's just my experience.

Love this thread, great idea :)

Whenever we get there we always run to our favorite show. We have so many memories of talking to the lovely CMs outside the theatre, and we make it a point to stop by Guest Relations every trip to rave about the friendliness of everyone who works there, as well as the talent of the performers.

On our last trip it had rained all afternoon and into the evening and the first Fantasmic was cancelled. We decided to wait for the second one, but since the lines for the rides were pretty long and we had already ridden everything we cared to ride anyway, we went exploring the Streets of America. They were completely empty so we took photo & video running and jumping in circles down the streets. It looks like the park is closed and we snuck in after-hours! Funny how the little things like that become some of your favorite memories. :lovestruc

Seeing the castle as you enter the MK. The feeling of I can't believe I am actually here. Watching my 5 year old experience DW for the first time. His reaction to the characters at Chef Mickey's! His dancing around the restaurant with Minnie. Watching him fight Capt. Jack Sparrow after being made into a pirate at Pirate's League. Being chosen with my son to raise the flag at Camp Minnie, Mickie's, then escorted to special seats for the Lion King show. Then watching my son be chosen to be a part of the Lion King Show. Most favorite memory, seeing my son in his Mickey Ears completely entranced by the magic of DW!

Seeing my little ones faces light up with excitement over every little thing. The character interactions....all of them ... just pure magic.
Also love how everything...everything....everything is themed to perfection....as if it were truly and honestly real.
Disney = magic for me. :)

All of these responses make me feel all warm and fuzzy! :thumbsup2
Keep'em comin', ya'all!

So many magical moments and simple things I just love, but here is a sampling:

- my husband proposing to me in front of the castle on an empty Main St USA (before park opening and CP breakfast)

- being seated by the windows at Ohana with a perfect view of Wishes a few days after getting engaged (our first time at Ohana, so we didn't even know these seats existed!)

- bartender at CSR giving us champagne and strawberries to celebrate our engagement

- server bringing us champagne to celebrate our honeymoon before our carriage ride at POR

- tears of joy every time I pass under that wonderful arch!

- the smell of "Disney water"

- the music of Illuminations... again, the tears...

- kindness and help of strangers on the DIS when planning our next trip to our favorite place! (And living vicariously through others' plans and trip reports until then!)

Wow where to begin! But I will give my top 3 character interactions:
1. When we meet Marie, she was such a true "kitten". My DD took her pick first and then I joined in, as soon as I came up Marie put her arm around me and began to nuzzle me. One of my favorite pics
2. The anticipation as we wait for characters at dinner, my daughter actually had to go the bathroom but so worried we would miss Pluto so on our way back we stopped him and explained so he stopped and took a pic
3. My all time favorite from our last trip was when we met Baloo. My DD is biracial so she has very curly hair and at the time she wore it in a pony almost on top of her head. Basically Baloo was having a conversation (through his CM) about how he wanted her hair, the cm was like Baloo you can't get a perm and so on...it was a good 3-4 minute meet and greet and had me belly laughing.

Love this thread!

Some of my favorites are going into MK before opening for reservations on one of our last days there and getting a pic of the castle with no crowds.

Singing along to the songs on the rides... We listen to the albums all year long!

Having Chip put his arm through mine and pull me away from my group after exiting the great movie right, while he walked to his post at Epcot and non of my family saw!

My brother being a part of the Indiana Jones Show.

Celebrating my sisters 21st at Cape May cafe and having a cake with a white chocolate Cinderella on top.. They got the whole place to sing to her!

Celebrating my birthday at Kona Cafe for dinner and they brought the wrong cake out... It said Happy Birthday Michele, instead of happy Birthday Colleen! Funny mistake and the CM felt so bad for ruining the surprise. It was still fun though. Never though I would have to say, that's not my name..

That's a few I can think of. There's always so much more!

Did you actually make it to the toilet? :)

My favorite memory was when my DD was 3 years old - we were at Garden Grill at Epcot for lunch and the place was empty. Mickey came by for pics and It was all good but then Chip and Dale showed up -- and she ran up to them and buried herself into Chip with the biggest hug ever -- after about 10 seconds I bent down to grab her and say let someone else have a visit -- but Dale stepped in and sat in front of my -- wagged his finger at me -- and gave ME a huge hug to -- for a full 2 minutes while DD just held onto Chip!
