So the new BF and I are doing Disney in May. He has never been but is interested in going with me. So what is your favorite resort to stay at as an adult. I am usually an offsite girl but have stayed at animal kingdom lodge.

What is your favorite resort for adults?

We are going to be there for 5 days. Getting a passholder discount.

I also like the offsite resorts but here are 2 of my WDW favorites:
POR if you can do a moderate for the theming and especially the grounds.
Wilderness Lodge if you can go deluxe for the theming and the boat ride to MK.

Karice, my all time favorite resort is Animal Kingdom Lodge. However, I love the Boardwalk for its proximity to Epcot and DHS and BLT for its proximity to MK and being on a monorail. Off site I like the Swan.

We are HUGE WL fans. The resort is HUGE and absolutely gorgeous. Artist Point was to date, one of our BEST signature dinning experiences. We were treated like royalty, cannot say enough great things about this resort. It's just a boat ride to MK, perfect location.:cloud9:

BWI/BWV :cloud9:
so much to do and see, but with a quiet elegance........:cloud9:

The poly is to date my favorite resort so far, altho i love the theming at beach club (so that would be a great choice too!)

I'm with others here. WL makes a good choice for adults and is a good "first time" resort (I personally believe that MK proximity is a key to first time success). Two good sit down restaurants, romantic themeing, and first rate hot tubs.

WELL HEY STRANGER!! So glad you graced us with your presence....

Karice, when in May are you going, heading down there as well in May. Oh and I vote for POR if you go moderate, the grounds are great to walk around at night and don't forget about the carriage rides!

 how are you!!! Well.. WL .. I like it for "me Time" :ssst: hence I did not add it up on my list...

I'd say:

Deluxe: WL/Poly/Contemporary/Yacht Club

Mod: CSR/POR

Value: uhh....POP...? I guess...IDK never stayed at one!!!

:goodvibes I am doing ok, thanks for asking. How are things with you? Me time, I got it-Your secret is safe with me lol Now I know why u didn't add it.

If he is a pool lounger then the Beach Club... If not then the Boardwalk!

Yacht Club hands down is where even the kids are adult LOL!! Or Swan/Dolphin (great pool / bar). Those are truly the only "adult" places to stay. But if you don't mind some regular kids running around, BWV/BWI or Beach Club are great.

Really enjoyed staying at POR with my BF back in 2004 (his first trip to DW). Enjoyed staying at Pop with my mom back in September but that was a mostly parks sort of trip with very little time at the resort. If I went with the BF again I would either stay at AKV, BLT, or WL. If we planned to spend a lot of time in the parks then I would say BLT for sure...but if we were going to be spending more time at the resort just walking around and enjoying each others company then I would go with WL or AKV.

The other deluxes are probably great...those are just the ones that would appeal to me and the BF the most. I'm just not a fan of the decor/theme at the other deluxes. I would say look at them and see what appeals to you and the BF.

If you plan to spend most of your time at the parks then I would say stay at Pop and spend the money on Deluxe dining plan or on some special dinners if you are going to pay OOP. Pop still is nice to walk around at night with the lake...but the dining can be very nice, romantic time with the BF and a very adult way to spend time together at DW.

I agree completely with delaneyc52. The Yacht Club is Adult all the way, and Beach Club & Boardwalk are close runners up if you need a touch more Mickey. But the location of these resorts can't be beat. Then add in: 1) the close proximity to more fab restaurants/bars at Swan & Dolphin; 2) walk or boat to Epcot & MGM (I know, I know, lol); and 3) evening boardwalk strolls; and you've got a winning combination. We do this every August at one of the 3 resorts and are always happy. :thumbsup2
