Favorit DLR souvenirs......???

This past week was out first trip to DLR so we went kind of crazy buying things!

We bought a Christmas ornament that I really like, it's very simple with just Disneyland and 2010 on it. We also a really cute beach towel.

We bought some limited edition plates for the 55th anniversary; there are four in a pack and they depict the park. They're really nice, and I think only 900 were sold. I also got a Mad Hatter's Tea Party tea cup for the anniversary, it's pink and white.

My very favorite however, is my plush Wheezy from Toy Story! He's only about six inches tall and he's so cute! I'm not a huge plush fan but I fell in love with this one, as did one of my cats who took him from me as soon as we got home and put him under the bed for safe keeping!

I love the silhouettes I had done of my children. We also buy a magnet on each vacation we go on.

These are my favorite too! I have mine and my brothers from when we were children (he passed away 6 years ago) alongside those of my son's hanging in my kitchen.

I also love collecting the Sleeping Beauty pins, Jim Shore Sleeping Beauty sculptures, and anything else with her on them.

We love the pins!! Must get a new pin with every trip, plus trade a few too. I do enjoy getting a mug too. I just found a "Dad" mug at DLR to go along with my "Mom" mug we bought last year at DW. That was exciting! LOL

Since we only get to DL twice a year, we always buy new Xmas ornaments, two coffee mugs, mickey ears, a refrigerator magnet and a lanyard full of pins for each of us. Oh and maybe a tshirt or hoodie, depending on if there's something new.

Needless to say, our pocketbooks are hurting by the time we leave.

DH and I have been there enough to taper off our purchases! But I love to save our passes/fast passes (*unused*) and park maps.

My favorite souvenir is an orange ball cap from 2000. I still wear it all the time. :)

I also collect coffee mugs - here's my favorites!

We get a Christmas ornament every time. In fact, every time we got anywhere we get one, lol!

We've started doing pins for DD, so she gets to pick one special one each trip (our last 2 trips were a 2009 one with characters, and a Tower of Terror one since she was scared but rode it anwyway).

We love the souvenir popcorn buckets too, which we reuse for popcorn at home.

I love those mugs, Kittyskyfish! ^^^ I had to stop my mug collecting and other collecting years ago, and limit my souvenir buying to just certain things every once in a blue moon (like the stuff in my photos on the previous page), but those mugs you bought would have seriously tempted me! Did they come in a set, or did you get them individually? And where did you find them? They look like something that I could picture being sold in World of Disney or the Emporium.

Hi! Thanks! Those mugs are sold individually and I purchased them inside DL on our December 2008 and May 2009 visits. I found them in Toontown at the Gag Factory and on Main Street in the big Emporium. Every time we go, I look for new ones!

Ooooh...Gag Factory! I love the Gag Factory - I've gotten some of my best stuff there over the years! In fact, one reason I love it is because of the fact that it is alllllll the way back in the park so a lot of folks don't want to head back there just to buy souvenirs. Meanwhile, GF often has things that may have sold out in the stores on Main Street, because the MS stores are right there in the line of traffic, and the merchandise sells out more quickly.

In addition to the Christmas mug in your photo above, I could also easily picture them making a Halloween mug too, maybe with a silhouette of a Mickey pumpkin and other iconic Halloween things like bats and ghosts and witches flying across the sky on a broom.

Oh wow, all those holiday items are so fun, Sherry! I really like those mugs, too.

My very favorite souvenirs we have gotten are the names painted in Disney characters that we got at Fairytale Scripts. We got one for each child, and I have them hanging up in their rooms. The silhouettes are a fun keepsake, too. We also enjoy collecting pins.

I love getting a picture frame and putting family pic from the trip. I also scrap - so my biggest souvenir are my pics.

Must have's are: Coffee Mug, a pin set, magnets for the refrigerator, a photo frame ( starting to get too many of those, gulp!) a shirt for DD3 (her choice) and starting this year...ornaments!! yay!!! I love Christmas decorations and hope to make it back in Dec. for the Holiday season!!:santa:

I buy the kids the new Christmas sweashirts every year. They are different every year and you can pass them down to the next kid in line.

We do this too!! It makes Christmas time SO fun to hang up all of our ornaments. Our tree becomes like a big scrapbook of memories! We'll get more ornaments [probably a couple] when we go in September.

I usually get antenna balls, a couple of nice mugs, a nice t shirt, jacket of some kind, hat, and whatever else catches my imagination. May be sending a print to my hotel while I'm down there as the company won't ship to Canada, so it might cut down on how many souvies I can buy.

Can anyone tell me around how much the silhouettes and mickey ears cost? I need to figure out how much souvenir $ to bring! thanks!:flower3:

The silhouettes are around $9 (you get two of them) and then you pay a little more if you want the frame too. I gave my duplicates to my mom sans frames. The hats range in prices, but I cannot remember the exact amounts. No more than $20 though.
