Fave thing about Tusker House Breakfast?

So we're not big breakfast people in my house and we are staying CL, so I wasn't going to make any breakfast reservations. However, I keep hearing great things about the TH breakfast. I looked at the menu and it sounds good, but doesn't seem to have too much out of the ordinary. What am I missing? What makes TH great? I would like a character meal and thought about Cape May (we are staying at BC), but you guys have really made me interested in TH! So, go for it :cool1:!!

We prefer Tusker breakfast over Cape May even though we frequently stay at BCV.

Tusker offers some different non-traditional breakfast items. I love the frittatas, blintzes, quiche. We usually book a late breakfast and use it as a brunch. Cape May serves traditional breakfast items only.

What I prefer at Cape May over Tusker is better character interaction and it's always been a quieter meal. Tusker is very noisy with seating that often runs behind. Cape May is rather difficult to get to for breakfast using Disney transportation so it never seems to be as busy or chaotic as other character meals.

I'd still pick Tusker for the food.

This is what I was looking for! Frittatas, blintzes, and quiche sound amazing. Yum! Thanks!

I've heard such good things about TH too, so I made us a reservation. Can't wait to try it!!

It's a fantastic breakfast - we've gone the last 2 years and it's the only repeat we've had, and we're planning it again next year.
We did a later time - 9:30 I think - we weren't hungry until very late and didn't use our CS meal for that day until after 8pm.

We have had breakfast there the past 3 trips and it is on our *must do* list for the next one. :goodvibes Aside from the fantastic location and the characters in their safari gear, the food is excellent! Some of my favorites:
Cheese Blintzes - with the warm apple topping. :lovestruc
Yam Casserole
Oven-roasted Yukon Gold Potato Wedges
Carved Rotisserie Honey-glazed Ham - I LOVE this...there is a warm, spicy honey mustard sauce that is soooo good on it.
Warm Banana-Cinnamon Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce - I always have room for this...even if it is a bite or two.
We also love the juice.
TH is our favorite character meal.

This sounds perfect! I think we would like a later time, then stay at AK for the day, then have a CS meal before heading "home". Or head "home" and have one at Epcot.

Cheese blintzes. . . .I am drooling all over my computer!! :woohoo:

We have gone to both...we like Cape may breakfast buffet but we LOVE Tusker house and its a must ever trip. We love the food selection (less hectic to get food...we never have to wait on any lines), great juice and wonderful characters...they have a musical parade with the kids.

Yay! We will be trying TH for the 1st time on our next trip-can't wait, the reviews make the experience sound awesome!

The food, characters, dance, atmosphere at TH are fantastic. They have this stuff called "mealie" that is like grits with cheese that is fantastic. Blintzes and bread pudding as other posters have said is great also! Fruit, doughnuts and other pastries, Mickey waffles like other places for more familiar items for the kids! The buffet is easy to navigate and sometimes too easy ;) to get seconds!! We did it for the first time in 2008 and it has become a must-do for us!

Tusker House is one of my absolute favorite breakfast spots! The variety is incredible, everything was so fresh. We ate there last week. We had a 9:30 breakfast time and didn't eat anything else until our dinner at the SoA dinner show.

You'll be back before I make ADRs so please let me know how it was :thumbsup2!

I sure will!

We had a 9:30 breakfast time and didn't eat anything else until our dinner at the SoA dinner show.

We have our ADR for 9:30, any earlier and we aren't too hungry. So I want to make sure we are plenty hungry for the buffet LOL

And I cannot wait to try this juice I keep hearing about!!!

Tusker house is a Must do for us as well. I made the ADR for 8:10am before park opening and it was wonderful to have AK to ourselves and get up close parking to the park.

The characters were great and we got to meet Daisy which is hard to do anywhere else. Donald was outside only doing pictures, no autographs, but not a big deal as we already got his autograph before.

Service was wonderful.

The juice was fantastic. Only complaint was that the glasses are small, so if your thirsty, you will have to keep asking for refills often.

Now onto the food which we thought was outstanding. Plenty of variety and everything was hot and very fresh. There was a chef with cooked ham, your basics, bacon, eggs, sausage, mickey waffles, and then so much more. All delicious. Biscuits, bagels, doughnuts, muffins, croissants, fresh fruit and so much that I won't be able to list it all.

During the meal, the picture you took from outside is brought to your table and you are asked if you'd like to buy it. We politely declined, and was under no pressure at all. Tip: while you are outside taking your pic with Donald, have the CM take the pic with your camera so you can have the pic yourself without having to spend the money to buy it!

You guys have made me so excited for this reservation now! I thought Ohana was my "must have", but I now have a new fave :cool1:! I just wish I didn't have so long to wait. . .

Thanks for the great comments everyone!

Another vote for the cheese blintzes here, they were simply outstanding. TH was my favorite breakfast buffet of our trip.

One tip though, if you get a reservation before the park opens, say 8:30-40ish, get there way ahead of time. I had an 8:30 and was running 10 minutes late. The CM at the rope refused to let us through because they were getting ready for the little opening show, so I was seriously late and in tears.

I love hearing all the great things about Tusker House. We are only doing two character meals on our trip and it sounds like we picked a good one. So excited to try it out next month! :cool1:

those are both great breakfasts, i would definitly choose tusker over CP or CM, but we loved cape may also !

Tusker House will be the first thing we do after we check-in to our resort. Think it will be an exciting, but good introduction step to the rest of our "First Trip Celebration" with DH-7.
