My husband has opted not to go to Disney World, on my last 3 trips. I have therefore gone, with my grandson and his momma. This recent Father's Day, I awoke early, and took my husband out for breakfast. He said "as long as the grandson has fun, then he is happy.

We had breakfast at 6:30 a.m. and by 8:30 a.m.,my husband was driving us to Ohare Airport. Checking bags, was the usual headache. Everything else about our new experience with TED, went very smoothly.

When we arrived at Orlando, we made all of our usual phone calls. I guess we made too many, because ED from Murray Hill Transportation Corp. was about to call us. We gathered our bags, and we were off to Port Orleans. After a short stop at the Publix supermarket, we were off again. Ed stopped at the entrance sign to Walt Disney World, and we had our Picture taken. Ed was a real gentleman, in every sense of the word.

Upon arrival, at Port Orleans Riverside, we had to find Bell Services to store our bags. Upon checking in, we realized that Magnolia Terrace was not our room location. We actually discovered, later, that we liked Partere Place better. It was close to everything.

After checking out our ground level. standsrd view room, I headed to the Food Court. There were refillable mugs to buy. I had a delicious ribs and chicken combo dinner.

The bags arrived 2 hours later.I was told that everyone has to be in their rooms to accept bags, even Magical Express guests.

The evening was spent at Downtown Disney. I spoke to a lovely set of grandparents with their young grandsons. The 11 year old raved about Summit Plummet.

I found all my scrapbooking supplies. Bought a beautiful album, Mickey edgers, autograph book, pressed penny book, and even a Jiminy mug. After much pin shopping, and watching my grandson cool off in the fountains, we took the bus back to Riverside. My grandson rated the first day as a 10.

He even got to enjoy the swimming pool at Riverside.

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

Thanks for the report. I didn't know you had to be in your room to receive your bags. We had plans to go to Chef Mickey's & the pool on our arrival day. :confused3

It's probably a good idea to plan ahead. If you want to swim, for example, after checking in, and before your bags arrive, you could bring your swimming attire in your carryon.

Some people do not even stay in their rooms, after checking them out. They simply head out for their activites. When they arrive at their rooms, after a day at the theme parks or a night at Downtown Disney, or perhaps a character meal, they then send for their bags. Bell Services is always available for luggage. It's just harder to get them around the official check in times. We should have known that.

I did not pack for my grandson. If I had, he could have swam earlier, and we would never had called for our bags at the 4 o'clock hour. It would have been more like 11 p.m.

Good planning, goes a long way, especially on arrival and departure day.
