me and my son (now 8) are planning our 4th trip in 3 years to disneyworld in early december. having transitioned from playhouse disney to wizrds of waverly place, i want to make sure we are taking in all those new things that he might really enjoy....NOT THAT HE DOESNT LOVE IT ALL!! but you know what i mean....any "must see" recommendations would be great!!!!!!

What a great tradition! Here are some of our faves:

* Osborne Lights at DHS...has a fun, block-party feel and occasionally snows!

* Santa stories from around the world at Epcot...my son was enchanted by Father Christmas in the UK and received a jingle bell

* Toy Story Mania at DHS

* Consider MVMCP if budget allows

* If time allows, the Lego Store at DTD is fabulous for building creations outside at their building stations...last time we were there, there were ramps for testing out vehicle creations - my husband seems to get into it as much as the kids! There are also neat items in the store, and they often offer great sales.

* Conquer all the mountains: Space, Splash, Thunder and Everest!

Have a great trip!

Thank you so much!! Some really good tips and mvmcp is indeed on our agenda as well as a trip to lego!!! Honestly haven't spent much time at epcot last 3 visits so looking forward to exploring a bit! Have you been to disney quest???

We haven't been to DQ in a llloooonnnnnggggggg time..it was fun tho, especially if you enjoy video games - a lot of virtual reality games. We also enjoyed the movies at DTD and Cirque de Soleil. However, I wouldn't do that instead of parks!!!!

Another fun thing for Epcot....my guys liked coloring the masks like Ninja turtles and collecting all of the charms...if your son is too "old" for that, you two can have a "snack around the world challenge".

Have a great trip!

FUNNY you mention, with the 25th anniv of the turtles he has just gotten back into. where is that? also, what is "snack around the world challenge"?????

Around world showcase in Epcot, you can get a mask and color it and collect a charm from each country. In Sep 08 they were roundish and my ds saw another boys, where they colored a mask around the eye area and the rest turtle green. It ended up looking just like a ninja turtle....I think they are still using that style mask too!

Snacking around the world is just something fun you can do....try a snack food or candy from each country. Plan to share as it can get filling, but it is a fun way to try new foods. We also have found the best pretzels at WDW are in Germany!

Doing a couple of the Kimpossible adventures at World Showcase could be a fun way to explore that area. My 8-year-old loves them.

My DS stb8 is lucky we live in Florida...

His favorite things not yet mentioned:

Tom Sawyer;s island-he'd spend hrs there, haunted mansion, esp after dark, the mountains, mickey shaped food, chef mickey's, Everytning epcot-Soarin, Test track, innoventions, spaceship earth, the Coke place, all mickey shaped snacks, candy from japan, the maelstrom, exploring countries, At hollowood studioes=the stunt show, indian Jones show, sci fi dine in, star tours, great movie ride, studio backlot tour, fantasmic...

Enjoy!
