Fat pen autograph question

I know I need to use a fat pen for the character signatures, but I'm not sure what type is best. Do most people use a Sharpie? I'd hate for the ink to bleed through to other pages. Or do people usually just use a fat regular ink pen. Thanks in advance for the help!

They sell an extra long fat pen in the parks where they sell autograph books. I would skip the Sharpie since it will bleed through, and Ive read it can stain the characters costumes.

I had bought a fat pen for my daughter (we put a P-Touch label with her name on it). In December the character seem to have their own pens, I ended up putting ours in our bag, we really didn't use it.

We used one of those fat pens with the 4 different ink colors in it. I pressed down the tip for the color we wanted (was able to color coordinate some characters, LOL) and they were able to hold the pens just fine. And we also used a P-touch label with dd's name on it. We still have that pen floating around the house. :)

We use Sharpie's- skip a page if it bleeds through.
We buy a new autograph book each year. My DS & DD never have a
signature on every page. Skipping pages allows a place to write down magical memories and for stickers, as in my DD case.

We always buy the fat pens with 4 or 6 different inks. The characters like to choose the ink color that they want to use. They often select a different color than what we have selected. We find that we only need one pen for multiple autograph books. Our experience is also that the characters do not carry pens with them.

We bought a fat ball point at Target that has sort of a foam grip on it. The drawback is that it can't be refilled, so if you are using it frequently you might want to bring 2.

Instead of pens, we used a fat crayon. I found some at the Dollar Tree that had glitter in them. No bleeding, leaking, or running out of ink...worked great!

We used the sharpie ones, I wanted them dark so i can trace over them and use the traced ones for our scrap book ...I would say to bring a thick piece of card stock with and just stick it in between each page to avoid the bleeding ..I didnt think of the bleeding when we were there in jan . but we just skipped a page for each one ...You can also buy ink pens all over down there.. So you have to choose which way you wana go ...Good luck and have fun ... ::MinnieMo

DD had a fav pen, it was a light up, not really "Fat" by any means, and it was great, added some magical interaction with characters and dd, who can be very shy...

I had thought about using a sharpie too, until I read on these boards that many people ran into problems with them (many of the costumed characters didn't want to use them). Although others had no problems with them, we decided just to be on the safe side. We hit Downtown Disney before going to any of the parks, and bought our pens there.

We bought our "fat" pen in MK last year. Its the blue one with Mouse ears on the end. It was perfect. They are sold almost throughout every park. We only used one pen for signing as the characters find it easy to hold the one pen and just switch autograph books for each person. My DH had some characters sign a Disney shirt and we used a Sharpie for that so it wouldn't wash off. I did bring a small cardboard piece to place under the shirt in order to avoid bleeding through and having his body "tatoo-ed" with autographs. LOL. If you place the Sharpie in the characters hand just right they won't get any ink on the costume.
