We just finished our trip with my 9 year old boy, 7 year old girl, and 4 year old boy. It turned out that getting to the park at rope drop, using fast passes, leaving at noon and coming back later in the evening... was awesome.

I know there are lots of folks not excited about the new fastpass+ system, but it worked really well for us. We pretty much didn't have to wait in line for anything (although we didn't emphasize the rides as much with these little kids). When we did do a ride, the youngest often wouldn't want to do it and we'd do the child swap thing which meant that the others got to ride twice in a row, and the time was really well used.

It just was a really nice trip even though it was right in the middle of the busy time at spring break.

That is our plan also for an upcoming trip. Did you park hop or just go back to the same park later in the day?

I'd love to know more specifics too...we are going in about 8 weeks...high summer crowds. We too will have younger kids, such as OP! Would love to hear the timing of it all because I am starting to panic with hearing all the negatives of FP+ and the hours of line waiting going on there!!

Sorry to take so long to respond... Sorta lost track of this thread.

We got times as early as possible for FP. We did 3 days in MK and got there at rope drop first day. As we were pulling in on the monorail all the characters were sitting on the train waving at us as they waited for their rope drop number. We rode the train to back of adventure land and worked our way forward. We enjoyed the pirate scavenger hunt and watched Jack Sparrow. We left at noon for a long afternoon break. That night we watched the electric parade and fireworks. We actually ended up riding dumbo several times during the late hours as there was no line and my kids loved it. We were also able to visit Mickey on Main Street with no waiting in the late evening before it closed and my kids loved that this character talks.

Second day we slept in after the late night and had FP for early afternoon in Fantasyland rides. We stayed for the new parade and left afterward for another break. It worked well for us to hit the park a couple days in a row at different times to see the parades and fireworks.

The third day we went early again and left at noon (tomorrow land FPs). At 4:30 we dropped the kids off at Sandcastle club and had date night at MK without the kids. The kids liked the club better than the park. Less walking!
